Ad Maiestatem: The Journal of a Welsh Monk

앞표지
University of Salzburg, 1997 - 96페이지
Of a previous poetic journal, dealing with the monk's Carthusian period, Eva Schmid-Morwald wrote:

His verse reflects the austere life in a Carthusian cell, mirroring a whole world which usually is firmly closed off from the rest of mankind outside the monastic walls. The firmness of his belief, assailed nevertheless by spiritual struggles, utmost despair as opposed to ecstatic happiness, the fruits of silence contrasted by desperate loneliness, represent an immensely fruitful source for his poetry...his musings merge into a poetry not only of high spiritual value but also offer great aesthetic pleasure.
