tice, and the land must be of a type that will not become an erosion hazard. All plants shall be completely removed from the land. If the land is to be used as improved pasture, it shall be seeded in accordance with Practice E-6 and payment may be made thereunder. However, no credit will be allowed for seed or seeding cost when computing the cost of carrying out this practice. Credit will not be given under this practice on any acreage where credit is given under practice D-15. Rate of payment: 50 percent of cost, not to exceed $10.00 per acre of land cleared. H-4. Weed control on cropland, along ditch banks or any land in a watershed which furnishes water for irrigation.-Eradication or control, by approved methods, of seriously infested plots of Canada thistle, field bindweed or creeping jenny, whitetop, leafy spurge, Russian knapweed, perennial sow thistle and quack grass. Payment for this practice may be approved only on farms where approved weed-control measures are being carried out on all adjacent infested farms and contiguous land, including roadways, or on which the county committee determines that there is no likelihood of reinfestation from adjacent farms or contiguous land. Eradication of quack grass must be by continuous cultivation throughout the growing season. A thorough job of eradication of quack grass must be accomplished before payment may be made. Payment will be made for eradicating quack grass only in cases where the county committee determines that the productivity of the land justifies the expenditure. Prior approval must be obtained from the county committee. Before granting prior approval, the county committee or its representative must inspect the acreage to determine the extent of the area. Before prior approval is granted, there must be an understanding between the county committee and the cooperator as to the details of the method of control which will be followed. Rates of payment: a. 5 cents per pound of sodium chlorate. b. $7.50 per acre for control by continuous cultivation throughout the growing season of field bindweed (creeping jenny), white top, leafy spurge, and Russian knapweed. c. $2.50 per acre for control of Canada thistle and pérennial sow thistle and for eradication of quack grass by continuous cultivation throughout the growing season.
