APPENDIX A. NOTES ON IRISH LAW. ALL the Acts set out in this volume, except those in Table D. hereafter, apply to Ireland as well as to England. In Ireland there is no legislation corresponding to the Bastardy Acts and to the Summary Jurisdiction (Married Women) Acts. With regard to the Irish Poor Law, Vagrancy, Elementary Education Acts, &c., space does not permit of their being set out, as they bear only indirectly upon the Law Relating to Children. The Irish Industrial Schools Act of 1868 and the Summary Jurisdiction Over Children Act of 1884 are both of importance, but each of them merely enacts for Ireland corresponding sections in English Acts. They are accordingly given in Tables A. and B., which will enable the Irish practitioner to utilise the sections and notes set out ante. For Secretary of State" in the English Acts, read "Chief Secretary" in the Irish. The general effect of the Reformatory Schools (Ireland) Act is the same as the English Act, but the sections do not correspond. It is therefore summarised in Table C. 66 Section. TABLE C.-contd.
