CHAPTER I

AN ACT appropriating one hundred and twenty five thousand dollars to defray the expenses of the Regular Session of the Fifty-sixth (56) General Assembly of the State of Indiana, and other matters connected therewith, and declaring an emergency.

SEC. 2. That it shall be the duty of the Auditor of Mileage and State to audit the accounts and issue his warrant upon Senators and the Treasurer of State for the per diem and mileage of RepresentaSenators and Representatives as allowed by law, and audited ani also such additional allowances as may be provided by concurrent action, of both houses, upon the certificate, in the case of Senators, of the President of the Senate, and, in the case of Representatives, upon the certificate of the Speaker of the House, setting forth the time served and the amount of mileage and allowance to which such Senators or Representatives may be entitled.

SEC. 3. SEC. 4. That no appropriation having been made for the purpose herein set forth, it is declared that an emergency exists for the immediate taking effect of this act, and, therefore, the same shall be in full force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER II.

AN ACT fixing the times of holding Court in the Seventh Judicial Circuit of the State of Indiana, prescribing the length of terms thereof, and repealing all laws in conflict therewith, and declaring an emergency.

Circuit Courts SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the of the Seventh Judicial CirState of Indiana, That the Circuit Courts in the Seventh cuit to begin, Judicial Circuit of the State of Indiana shall be held as follows, to-wit: In the County of Ohio, on the first Monday of February; fourth Monday of April; first Monday of September, and third Monday of November; and in the County of Dearborn, the third Monday succeeding the beginning of the Courts in the County of Ohio. The Court in the County of Ohio shall continue two weeks, and in the County of Dearborn eight weeks at each term, if the business thereof requires it.

SEC. 2. SEC. 3. All laws and parts of laws in conflict with repealed. this act are hereby repealed.

SEC. 4. An emergency is hereby declared for the immediate taking effect of this act; it shall, therefore, be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER III.

A JOINT RESOLUTION concerning the acceptance of a grant of moneys by Congress for the purpose of establishing an Agricultura! Experiment Station in the State of Indiana.

[APPROVED JANUARY 19, 1889.]

WHEREAS, By an act of Congress, entitled an act to Preamble. establish Agricultural Stations in connection with the colleges established in the several States, under the provision of an act approved July 2, 1862, and of the acts supplementary thereto, certain moneys were granted to the State of Indiana upon conditions, which conditions are as follows:

SEC. 9. That the grants of moneys authorized by this act are made subject to the legislative assent of the several States and Territories to the purposes of said grants: Provided, That payments of such installments of the appropriation herein made as shall become due to any State before the adjournment of the regular session of its Legislature meeting next after the passage of this act shall be made upon the assent of the Governor thereof duly certified to the Secretary of the Treasury; and

WHEREAS, The Governor of the State of Indiana did, Preamble. on the 10th day of December, 1888, provisionally accept such grant for and on behalf of Purdue University, that being the college established in Indiana under the provisions of the act approved July 2, 1862, and of the act supplementary thereto; be it Resolved by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana, Acceptance of That said grant is hereby accepted for and on behalf of grant by Gen Purdue University, and the Legislative assent of Indi- for Purdue ana is hereby given to the purpose of said grant.

CHAPTER IV.

A BILL for an act to amend sections one and two of an act entitled "An act to fix the times of holding courts in the Second Judicial Circuit of the State of Indiana, fixing the length of terms thereof, providing for the return of process therein, repealing all laws in conflict with this act, and declaring an emergency," approved March 27, 1885, and declaring an emergency.
