1. WHEN all Thy mercies, O my God,
My rising soul surveys,

Transported with the view, I'm lost
In wonder, love, and praise.

2. Unnumber'd comforts to my soul
Thy tender care bestow'd,
Before my infant heart conceived
From whom those comforts flow'd.

3. When in the slipp'ry paths of youth
With heedless steps I ran,

Thine arm unseen convey'd me safe,
And led me up to man.

4. When worn with sickness, oft hast Thou
With health renew'd my face;
And, when in sin and sorrow sunk,
Revived my soul with grace.

5. Through every period of my life
Thy goodness I'll pursue;

And after death, in distant worlds,
The glorious theme renew.

6. Through all eternity to Thee
A joyful song I'll raise :
But, oh! eternity's too short
To utter all Thy praise.

1. FATHER, to Thee our hearts we lift; Our hope on Thee depends,

For ev'ry good and perfect gift

From Thee alone descends.

2. Wisdom and mercy, grace and might,
O Lord, are thine alone;

Nor can we come before Thy sight
But only through Thy Son.

3. Thou all our works in us hast wrought,
Our good is all divine;

The praise of ev'ry virtuous thought,
And righteous word, is Thine.

4. From Thee, through Jesus, we receive
The pow'r on Thee to call :

In Thee we are, by Thee we live ;
Thou, Lord, art all in all !

1. O GOD, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home!

2. Before the hills in order stood,
Or earth received its frame,
From everlasting Thou art God,
To endless years the same.

3. A thousand ages in Thy sight
Are as an evening gone :

Short as the watch that ends the night,
Before the rising sun.

4. The busy tribes of flesh and blood,
With all their lives and cares,
Are carried downwards by the flood,
And lost in following years.

5. Time, like an ever-rolling stream,
Bears all its sons away;
They fly, forgotten, as a dream
Dies at the opening day.

1. O GOD of Jacob, by whose hand
Thy people still are fed ;

Who, through this weary pilgrimage,
Hast all our fathers led:

2. Our vows, our prayers, we now present
Before Thy sacred throne:
God of our fathers, be our God,
And all our children own!

3. Through each perplexing path of life, Be Thou our constant guide;

Give us each day our daily bread,
And all we need provide.

4. Protect us with Thy constant care,
Till all our wand'rings cease.

And at our Father's blest abode,
Our souls arrive in peace.
