1. LORD, when we bend before Thy throne
And our confessions pour,

Teach us to feel the sins we own,
And hate what we deplore.

2. Our fallen spirits, pitying, see;
True penitence impart ;

And let a healing ray from Thee,
Beam hope upon our heart.

3. When we disclose our wants in prayer,
May we our wills resign,

And not a thought our bosom share,
That is not wholly Thine.

4. Let faith each weak petition fill,
And waft it to the skies,

And teach our hearts 'tis goodness still,
That grants it or denies.

1. Он, Thou from whom all goodness flows,
I lift my heart to Thee;

In all my conflicts, pain, and woes,
Good Lord, remember me !

2. When on my fearful, burden'd heart,
My sins press heavily,

Thy pardon grant, Thy peace impart :
Good Lord, remember me !

3. If strong temptations crowd my way,
And ills I cannot flee,

Let strength be equal to my day:
Good Lord, remember me !

4. When in the solemn hour of death,

I bow to Thy decree,

Be this the prayer of my last breath-
Good Lord, remember me !

1. BLEST Lamb of God! whose dying love
We now recall to mind;

Oh hear us from Thy throne above,
And let us mercy find.

2. By all Thine agonizing pain,
Thy cruel woes, we pray;
And by Thy dying love to man,
Cleanse all our guilt away.

3. Lord! let Thy blood, by faith applied,
Our gracious pardon seal;

Pronounce us freely justified,
And all our sorrows heal.

4. From sin's dominion set us free,
Our suppliant souls release;
Raise all our hearts to think of Thee,
And bless us with Thy peace.

1. THROUGH all the changing scenes of life,
In trouble and in joy,

The praises of my God shall still
My heart and tongue employ.

2. Of His deliv'rance I will boast,
Till all that are distrest,
From my example comfort take,

And charm their griefs to rest.

3. Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
With me exalt His name;
When in distress to Him I call'd,
He to my rescue came.

4. Oh, make but trial of His love-
Experience will decide,

How blest are they, and only they,
Who in His truth confide.

1. THE Spirit breathes upon the Word, And brings the truth to sight; Precepts and promises afford

A sanctifying light.

2. A glory gilds the sacred page,
Majestic, like the sun;

It gives a light to every age,
It gives, but borrows none.

3. The hand that gave it still supplies
The gracious light and heat;
His truths upon the nations rise,
They rise, but never set.

4. Let everlasting thanks be Thine,
For such a bright display,

As makes a world of darkness shine
With beams of heavenly day.

5. My soul rejoices to pursue
The steps of Him I love,
Till glory breaks upon my view,
In brighter worlds above.

1. OH! for a closer walk with God;
A calm and heav'nly frame;
A light to shine upon the road,
That leads me the Lamb!

2. Return, O holy Dove, return,
Sweet messenger of rest;

I hate the sins that made thee mourn,
And drove thee from my breast.

3. The dearest idol I have known,
Whate'er that idol be,

Help me to tear it from Thy throne,
And worship only Thee.

4. So shall my walk be close with God;
Calm and serene my frame;

So purer light shall mark the road,
That leads me to the Lamb.

COWPER.
