1. JERUSALEM, my happy home,
Name ever dear to me,

When shall my labours have an end
In joy, and peace, and thee!

2. When shall mine eyes thy heaven-built walls,
And pearly gates behold;

Thy bulwarks with salvation strong,
And streets of shining gold!

3. Apostles, martyrs, prophets, there
Around my Saviour stand;
And soon my friends in Christ below
Will join the glorious band.

4. Jerusalem, our happy home,

Our souls still long for thee; Then shall our labours have an end, When we thy joys shall see.

1. THERE is a book, who runs may read, Which heavenly truth imparts, And all the lore its scholars need,

Pure eyes and Christian hearts.

2. The works of God above, below,
Within us and around,

Are pages in that book, to show
How God Himself is found.

3. The raging fire, the roaring wind,
Thy boundless power display;
But in the gentler breeze we find
Thy Spirit's viewless way.

4. Two worlds are ours: 'tis only Sin
Forbids us to descry

The mystic heaven and earth within,
Plain as the sea and sky.

5. Thou who hast given me eyes to see
And love this sight so fair,

Give me a heart to find out Thee,
And read Thee everywhere.

1. Он, that the Lord would guide my ways
To keep His statutes still!

Oh, that my God would grant me grace
To know and do His will!

2. Oh, send Thy Spirit down to write
Thy law upon my heart;

Nor let my tongue indulge deceit,
Nor act the liar's part.

3. From vanity turn off my eyes;
Let no corrupt design
Nor covetous desires arise
Within this soul of mine.

4. Order my footsteps by Thy Word,
And make my heart sincere ;
Let sin have no dominion, Lord,
But keep my conscience clear.

5. Make me to walk in Thy commands;
Along that peaceful road;

Nor let my head, nor heart, nor hands,
Offend against my God.

1. To Thee, O God! my prayer ascends, But not for golden stores;

Nor covet I the brightest gems

On the rich eastern shores:

2. Nor that deluding empty joy
Men call a mighty name;

Nor greatness, with its pride and state,
My restless thoughts inflame :

3. Nor pleasure's fascinating charms,
My fond desires allure;

But nobler things than these from Thee
My wishes would secure.

4. The faith and hope of things unseen,
My best affections move;

Thy light, Thy favour, and Thy smiles,
Thine everlasting love :

5. These are the blessings I desire;

Lord, be these blessings mine,
And all the glories of the world
I cheerfully resign.

WATTS.

MRS. ROWE.
