1. CHRIST, whose glory fills the skies,

Christ, the true, the only light, Sun of Righteousness, arise,

Triumph o'er the shades of night;
Day-spring from on high, be near;
Day-star, in my heart appear.

Til Thy mercy's beams I see;
Till they inward light impart,
Glad my eyes, and warm my heart.

2. Dark and cheerless is the morn,

Unaccompanied by Thee; Joyless is the day's return,

3. Visit, then, this soul of mine,

Pierce the gloom of sin and grief;
Fill me, Radiancy Divine !

Scatter all my unbelief :
More and more Thyself display,
Shining to the perfect day.

1. COME, bless the Lord, whose love assigns

A sacred rest for wearied minds;
And gives from heav'n that sweet repose,
Which none but he that feels it, knows.
Return, my soul, enjoy thy rest,
Improve the day thy God has blest.

2. In holy duties let the day,

In holy pleasures, pass away;
Let pray'r and praise together rise
As grateful incense to the skies.
How sweet a Sabbath thus to spend,
In hope of one that ne'er shall end.

PSALM XXIII.
1. The Lord my pasture shall prepare,

And feed me with a shepherd's care;
His presence shall my wants supply,
And guard me with a watchful eye;
My noon-day walks He shall attend,
And all my midnight hours defend.

2. When in the sultry glebe I faint,

Or on the thirsty mountain pant,
To fertile vales, and dewy meads,
My weary, wand'ring steps he leads ;
Where peaceful rivers, soft and slow,
Amid the verdant landscape flow.

3. Though in the paths of death I tread,

With gloomy horrors overspread,
My stedfast heart shall fear no ill,
For Thou, O Lord, art with me still;
Thy rod and staff shall give me aid,
And guide me through the dreadful shade.
