FOR SCHOOL ANNIVERSARIES.
1. FATHER, hear Thy children's praises
For the boon we own to-day;
Grateful love our hearts upraises,
This our sacrifice to pay:

Thanks for all Thy mercies given,-

Stores of knowledge here unroll'd,

Means of grace and hopes of heaven,-
Unto us, Thy chosen fold!

2. Lord, Thy servants' spirits turning,
Mould them by Thy gracious sway:-
Godliness and all good learning

May we follow, day by day!
May we, these Thy bounties sharing,
Every talent use aright,
Still by earthly lore preparing,

Till our faith be turned to sight.

3. Till, undimmed by dark reflection,

Face to face shall Christ be shown;---
Knowledge rise to full perfrction,-
Knowing e'en as we are known.
Father, hear Thy children's praises
For the boon we own to day;
Grateful love our hearts upraises,
This our sacrifice to pay.

RUGBY HYMN Bee

[The first four lines only of each verse are to be sung to the Music of the opposite page: for the Music of the last four lines, see next page.]

1. SAVIOUR, when in dust to Thee
Low we bow th' adoring knee,
When, repentant, to the skies
Scarce we lift our streaming eyes;
Oh, by all Thy pain and woe,
Suffered once for man below,
Bending from Thy throne on high,
Hear our solemn Litany!

2. By Thy birth and early years,
By Thy human griefs and fears,
By Thy fasting and distress
In the lonely wilderness;
By Thy victory, in the hour
Of the subtle Tempter's power,
Jesu, look with pitying eye,
Hear our solemn Litany!

3. By Thine hour of dark despair,
By Thine agony of prayer;
By the purple robe of scorn;

By Thy wounds, Thy crown of thorn,
Cross and passion, pangs and cries;
By Thy perfect sacrifice,

Jesu, look with pitying eye,
Hear our solemn Litany!

4. By Thy deep expiring groan,
By the sealed sepulchral stone;
By Thy triumph o'er the grave,
By Thy power from death to save;
Mighty God, ascended Lord,
To Thy throne in heaven restored,
Jesu, look with pitying eye,
Hear our solemn Litany!
