It is further ordered, That the Mate,
Boatswain, Gunner, and Carpenter (or
two of them at least, do conftantly lye
on board whilst the Ship fhall have any
Goods remaining in her, or fhall forfeit
and pay (each of them) for every fuch
neglect, to the use of the Poor of this Cor-
poration, the Sum of Five Shillings.

IV.

Item, Whereas by reafon of Powder being taken aboard Ships before their departure out of the River of Thames, and by being kept aboard at their return in the Time of their unlading, as alfo by the heating of Pitch, Tar, Rozin, Greafe, Tallow, Oyl, &c. aboard Ships, there hath often happened great Loffes by Fire to Merchants and Own

It is Ordered, That no Ship outward bound, do receive on board any Powder either for Merchandize, or Store for the Voyage,

Voyage, before the fhall be at, or below Blackwall, and not there till within Twenty-four Hours before she shall set fail from thence to Gravefend; and that every Ship homeward bound do put afhore her Powder as aforefaid, at or before her arrival at Blackwall, and that within Twenty-four Hours (if the Weather fhall permit) after her coming to an Anchor there, or at the Place of her unloading; upon the Penalty of the Mafter of every fuch Ships, forfeiting and paying to the use of the Poor of this Corporation, for every Time fo Offending, the Sum of Five Pounds.

V.

Item, It is ordered, That the Mafer of every Ship homeward-bound do unfoot all his Guns before, or fo foon as he fhall arrive at Gravefend; upon the Penalty of twenty Nobles, to be paid to the Ufe of the Poor of this Corporation.

VI.

Corporation (and upon demand fhewing! his Authority under the common Seal thereof) from coming on board his Ship in the Day-time, to fearch for any Powder, Guns unshotted, heating of Pitch, Tar, Rozin, Greafe, Tallow, Oyl, and the like, the careless or unfeasonable drying of Bread-Rooms, the fuffering Bum-boats to come aboard, and to Traffick with them, or to enquire into any other Offences there committed against the Orders of this Houfe; He fhall forfeit and pay to the Poor thereof, for his every Time fo offending, the Sum of Five. Pounds.

IX. Repealed.

X.

Item, For the better Regulating and Government of Seamen and Mariners, it is order'd,

That if any Mariner (whilst on ShipSwearing er board) fhall Swear Curfe, or Blafpheme Blafpheming the Name of God; he fhall forfeit and

pay for every fuch Offence one Shilling, the fame to be put into the Poor's Box remaining on board the faid Ship, for the ufe of the Poor of this Corporation.
