['The Traveller' was the first of Goldsmith's publications which bore his name. It was published and sold at 1s. 6d. by Mr. J. Newbery, of St. Paul's Churchyard, in Dec., 1764, the title-page being dated 1765. Goldsmith received twenty guineas for the work, which went through nine editions during his lifetime.]
