HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 12.

APPROPRIATION.

(By Mr. Carver.)

Resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring, that the balance of the appropriation heretofore made by House Bill No. 15 be and the same is hereby directed to be used in payment of the salaries of the House and Senate employes for the period from August 24th to September 7th, 1910, inclusive, and that the Auditor be directed to draw the necessary warrants therefor and the Treasurer of State is hereby authorized to pay the same.

HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 1.

INVITATION TO HON. THEODORE ROOSEVELT.

Whereas, On Monday, August 29, the Honorable Theodore Roosevelt will visit the city of Denver; and,

Whereas, The said Theodore Roosevelt is a character of national prominence and one whose words are eagerly sought for by all parties, regardless of political faith; therefore, be it

Resolved, By the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring therein, That the General Assembly of the State of Colorado extends to Theodore Roosevelt an invitation to address a joint session of the Senate and House of Representatives at such time as he may desig. nate on the 29th day of August, 1910, and that a committee of five be appointed, consisting of two members of the Senate and three members of the House, to convey this invitation.

HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 2.

INVITATION.

Be it Resolved, By the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring, That on October 7, when the Senate and House adjourn, that they adjourn to meet October 10, in order that they may avail themselves of the opportunity to accept an invitation extended them by the citizens of Sulphur Springs, Grand County, to attend a "Venison Barbecue" and a "Fish Fry" to be held on October 8, and to enjoy a ride over the famous Moffat Road and see the industry of this new country.

HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 4,

DEATH OF HON. GEO. W. SWINK.

(By Mr. McCaskill.)

Whereas, We learn with the most profound regret of the death of one of Colorado's most distinguished citizens; a pioneer of the Arkansas valley and one who signally represented not only the Arkansas valley, but the entire State of Colorado, as Senator from Otero county, the Honorable George W. Swink, who was known as the "Father of Rocky Ford."

Every industry of the Arkansas valley bears the imprint of his hand and the genius of his guiding mind. As a statesman, a husband and a father, his daily life won the commendation and inspired the emulation of all. Therefore, be it

Resolved, By the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring, That we extend to the sorrowing wife and family our sincere sympathy in their great bereavement; and, be it further

Resolved, That when the House and Senate adjourn Tuesday noon, we adjourn until 4 o'clock p. m. of said day, out of respect to his memory. Be it further

Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the Journals of the House and Senate, and a copy sent to the sorrowing family.
