LIBRARY OF THE LOD STANFORD, JR., UNIVERK LON DEPARTMENT. a.56091 JUL 15 1901 Entered, according to Act of Congress, in the year 1853, BY T. AND J. W. JOHNSON, In the Clerk's Office of the District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. C. SHERMAN, PRINTER, 19 St. James Street. PREFACE. THE Editor takes the opportunity of completing a Second Volume, to repeat his acknowledgments of the invariable courtesy shown him by all the Judges consulted, in collecting these Cases. Unrestricted use of the valuable notes of the Lord Chief Justice TINDAL and Mr. Baron PARKE has been allowed him, by the kindness of those learned Judges. The reasons of the judgments have been taken almost entirely from those notes; where no reason is given, the principle for the most part obviously follows from the statement. For the marginal notes, the Editor is responsible. TEMPLE, July 8, 1844. A TABLE 179 viii A TABLE OF THE NAMES OF CASES. C. Cain's Case. Trustee of friendly societies. Larceny, Caspar's Case.
