INC last muu vas u 111Incu uy an uren 43 Ataurumaiy as any 1 un history-an event that extends itself to the interests of every state in Europe, and affects every class of society, and every pursuit in life ; and when iî is considered that this event, in the sudden re-establishment of that government which within the last five years has directed all its influence to the subversion of commercial intercourse in every part of Europe, there is nothing so likely to become suliject to such extreme fluctuation and uncertainty as commerce. At present, as far as intelligence has been received from different parts of Europe, it appears to have produced an impression that commercial productions in general would advance in price; but, with the exception of hemp and spirits, our market has not yet experienced any further alteration than it might have done had the government of France remained under its legitimate authority. Under the impression that a new wu on the part of this country will be unavoidable, and, at all events, that the maritime force of the country will be put into immediate requisition, hemp has risen in price 5l. to 6l. per ton, and ļums have also obtained an advance of 2s. to 38. per gall, and are held for a still further advance. Sugars in the course of the month have been subject to fluctuation, particularly renned, and it will be noticed, by a reference to the prices, that, upon the whole, sugars are at 2 considerable further reduction in price since the 1st of March. An alteration in the bounty and drawbacks for exportation, will take place in a few days, favourable for the shipper, to the amount of 55. or 6s. per cwt, on raw, 10s. to 12s. per cwt. on clayed, and in the like proportion on refined, which may probably increase the demand, and prevent any further decline in price. Coffees of good and fine qualities have not yielded to much depression, but middling and ordinary qualities have declined 6s. to 10s. per cwt. Cotton wool and tobacco, in consequence of the very reduced stock, notwithstanding the direct arrivals daily expected, have fully supported the prices of the previous month. Teas sold, at the sale of last month, at a decline of 14d. to 2d. per pound on the price of the December sale. The funds, as will be noticed by the Table, have been subject to considerable fluctuation. Exchanges and bullion have not yet experienced any very great variation, which may, however, be anticipated.
