holy name, we rejoice before Thee and praise Thee, for Thy goodness to us and to all the creatures of Thy hand; for Thou art the giver of all good gifts, and unto Thee we render glory and praise, even unto the Father, and unto the Son, and unto the Holy Ghost, now and for evermore, world without end. Amen.

For Plenty.

O most merciful Father, who of Thy gracious goodness hast heard the devout prayers of Thy Church, and turned our dearth and scarcity into cheapness and plenty; we give Thee humble thanks for this Thy special bounty; beseeching Thee to continue Thy loving-kindness unto us, that our land may yield us her fruits of increase, to Thy glory and our comfort; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

For Deliverance from Pestilence.

O most merciful Father, who in the midst of Thy judgments hast remembered mercy; we meekly acknowledge Thy marvellous lovingkindness towards us, and Thy tender goodness. Thou didst visit us with Thy sore displeasure; but in Thine abundant mercy Thou hast hearkened unto the prayer of Thy people, and hast assuaged the plague of sickness with which Thou hast

lately afflicted us. We render unto Thy divine. majesty our humble thanksgivings, and rejoice in Thy salvation. We laud and magnify Thine ever-glorious and honourable name, the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; and unto Thee, in Thy holy Church, we ascribe glory and worship, power and dominion, blessing and praise, now, henceforth, and for evermore, world without end.

Amen.

For Peace and Deliverance from Enemies.

O Almighty God, who art a strong tower of defence unto Thy servants against the face of their enemies; we yield Thee praise and thanksgiving for our deliverance from those great and apparent dangers wherewith we were compassed. We acknowledge it to be of Thy goodness that we were not delivered over as a prey unto them; beseeching Thee still to continue Thy mercies towards us, that all the world may know that Thou art our Saviour and mighty Deliverer; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with Thee, O Father, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen.

For a Safe Voyage.

Most gracious Lord, whose tender mercy is over all Thy works; we praise Thy holy name, that

Thou hast been pleased to conduct us in safety through the perils of the deep, and to bring us to the end of our journey in peace. May we be duly sensible of Thy merciful providence toward us, and ever express our thankfulness by a holy trust in Thee, and obedience to Thy commandments; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

For Deliverance from Storms.

Amen.

O most merciful and mighty God, who at Thy pleasure raisest the winds and waves of the sea, or commandest them back to peace; we, Thy creatures, spared by Thy mercy to praise Thee, do give Thee unfeigned thanks, for that Thou heardest our cry when we were at the brink of death, and didst not suffer us to perish in the devouring waters. And we here offer ourselves, our bodies and our souls, which Thou hast redeemed, to be a living sacrifice unto Thee of praise and thanksgiving, all the days of our lives; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Prayers for Special Graces.

WE

For Life in Christ.

E approach Thee, O Lord, in the name of Thy Son Jesus Christ, who, after He had borne our sins and carried our sorrows upon earth, sat down at Thine own right hand, the Mediator of those for whom He died. Grant us, we beseech Thee, to be made partakers, both in that atonement which He perfected on the cross and in His mediation in the upper sanctuary; that, being reconciled through the death of Thy Son, we may be saved by His life, who liveth and was dead, and is alive for evermore, and hath the keys of hell and of death; to whom be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

For Restoration.

O God, who art long-suffering and kind, and art evermore seeking to turn us from our vanities

that we may live and not die; grant that we may know this the time of our visitation, and give ear to the voice that calleth us, and so bring us home, good Lord, from wandering in the wilderness, and give our weary hearts such rest in Thee that we may seek to wander from Thee no more, but abide in Thy peace for ever; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

For Conversion to the Will of God.

1.

Almighty and everlasting God, who requirest the hearts of Thy creatures, convert us wholly to Thyself; turn away our eyes from beholding vanity, and quicken us in Thy way; through Him who is at once the pattern and the power of godliness, Thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

2.

Amen.

Almighty God, who hast given Thine only Son to be unto us both a sacrifice for sin and also an ensample of godly life; give us grace that we may always most thankfully receive that His inestimable benefit, and also daily endeavour ourselves to follow the blessed steps of His most holy life; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
