and turn to Thee; grant unto them full remission and forgiveness; absolve them from all their sins, iniquities, and transgressions, and vouchsafe unto them Thy Holy Spirit. Amen.

2.

Almighty God, and most merciful Father, who delightest not in the death of a sinner, but rather that he be converted from his sin and live; give unto Thy servants a deep contrition for their sins, a perfect hatred, and a full remission of them; visit us with the joys of Thy salvation, and the sweet sense that Thine anger is turned away from us; grant unto us grace to fear and love Thee, power and will to serve Thee, and time and space to finish the work which Thou hast given us to do; that we, being sprinkled with the blood of the lamb of God, may be justified by Thy grace, sanctified by Thy Spirit, and saved by Thine infinite and eternal goodness; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

3.

O Thou gracious God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy upon Thy servants who bow before Thee; pardon and forgive us all our sins; give us the grace of true repentance, and a strict obedience to Thy holy Word; strengthen us in the inner man for all the parts and duties of holy living; preserve us evermore in the unity of Thy Church, in the integrity of the Christian faith, in the love of Thee and of our neighbour, in the hope of eternal life, and in Thy peace which passeth all understanding.

Be pleased also to shed abroad Thy love in our hearts by the Holy Ghost, and to seal unto us, by the same spirit of adoption, the full assurance of pardon and reconciliation with Thee. Comfort all who mourn in Zion, speak peace to the wounded and troubled spirit, and bind up the broken-hearted, that we and all Thy people may be filled with joy and peace in believing, and may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Amen.

4.

Grant, we beseech Thee, merciful Lord, to Thy faithful people pardon and peace, that they may be cleansed from all their sins and serve Thee with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Prayer of Dedication.

Unto Thee, O Lord, do we give thanks, for that Thy name is near Thy wondrous works declare. We approach unto Thee in the name of Jesus Christ, our Saviour, who hath died for our sins and risen again for our justification. We dedicate ourselves unto Thy service, yielding unto Thee our wills and our desires, our faculties, and all our members, the life of our body, the thoughts of our heart, the aspirations of our spirit. Perfect, O Lord, we beseech Thee, this our offering: let the fire of Thy love consume in us all sinful desires of the flesh and of the mind; that we may henceforth continually abide with Christ

our Lord, seeking those things which are above, where He sitteth at Thy right hand. For unto Thee belongeth all glory, even unto the Father, and unto the Son, and unto the Holy Ghost: as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.

Amen.

Supplications.

1.

Give ear, O Lord, unto our prayer, and attend to the voice of our supplication.

Make us poor in spirit: that ours may be the kingdom of heaven.

Make us to mourn for sin: that we may be comforted by Thy grace.

Make us meek: that we may inherit the earth. Make us to hunger and thirst after righteousness: that we may be filled therewith.

Make us merciful: that we may obtain mercy. Make us pure in heart: that we may see Thee. Make us peacemakers: that we may be called Thy children.

Make us willing to be persecuted for righteousness' sake that our reward may be great in heaven.

O God, true and highest Life, by whom, through whom, and in whom, all things live, which live truly and blessedly; pity and help us, according as Thou knowest we need, in body and in soul, that casting off all that entangles us, we may serve and cleave to Thee alone, who knowest all things, and canst perform all things, and who livest for evermore. Amen.

2.

Take from us that carnal mind which is death, and increase in us that spiritual mind which is life and peace.

Give us earnestness, strength of purpose, simplicity of faith, warmth of love.

Make us kindly in thought; gentle in word; generous in deed.

Teach us that it is better to give than to receive; better to forget ourselves than to put ourselves forward; better to minister than to be ministered unto; better to be last than to be first.

Preserve and keep us in the constant sense of our membership of Christ; in the unfailing thought that we are His soldiers and servants; in the love of our Father's house; and in the hope of our eternal home.

May we live by faith in Christ; may we increase in the joy of conscious union with Him; may we become more and more like Him, till we see Him as He is, and be changed into His perfect likeness.

Amen.

3.

Take from us all impurity of thought or desire; all envy, pride, hypocrisy; all falsehood and deceit ; all covetousness, vainglory, and indolence; all malice and anger; everything that is contrary to Thy will, O most holy Lord.

Enlighten our understandings, that we may know the greatness of Thy love in Christ, the mysteries of Thy kingdom, and the riches of Thine eternal glory.

Teach us what Thou wouldst have us to do, and

uphold us by Thy mighty power, that every work of ours may begin always from Thee, and in Thee be happily ended. Amen.

4.

Hear, O Lord, our humble supplications.

Give us so to know Christ and His life, that the same mind which was in Him may be in us; that we may be in the world as He was in the world.

Give us so to know Christ and His death, that we may not glory save in His cross; whereby the world is crucified unto us, and we unto the world.

Give us so to know Christ and the power of His resurrection, that like as He was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we also may walk in newness of life.

Give us so to know Christ and His ascension, that our conversation may be in heaven; and that we may seek those things that are above, where He sitteth at Thy right hand.

Give us so to know Christ and His second coming, that our lamps may be burning and our loins girt, and we ourselves as servants waiting for their master.

Give us so to know Christ as Judge of quick and of dead, that we may give in our account with joy, and may be welcomed by Him to the kingdom of the Father.

Amen.

5.

Hear, O Lord, our humble supplications.

Deliver us, we pray Thee, from ignorance and error, from prejudice and passion, from pride and self-confidence; and give us humble, teachable, and
