ORDER OF DIVINE SERVICE.
First Sunday of the Month.
The Congregation being assembled, Divine Service may begin with the singing of a Psalm or Hymn; then, the Congregation still standing, the Minister shall
UR help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
O come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God; and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand.
Then, the Congregation kneeling, the Minister shall
Let us Pray.
Prayer of Invocation.
God, our heavenly Father, who
hast made the Church Thy dwelling-place, and chosen it as Thy rest for ever, and hast taught us in Thy Word not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together; regard in Thy mercy, we beseech Thee, us Thy servants, who meet this day in Thy holy place. Manifest Thyself unto us, and bless unto us all Thine ordinances, so that our worship may prepare us both to serve Thee now, and to glorify Thee hereafter in Thine eternal kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
O Lord our God, eternal and almighty Father, we acknowledge and confess before Thy holy majesty that we are poor sinners; born in corruption and prone to evil; unable of ourselves to do that which is good; transgressing daily, and in many ways, Thy holy commandments, and by Thy just judgment deserving of condemnation and death.
We are deeply grieved, O Lord, for having offended against Thee. We condemn both ourselves and our sins with unfeigned penitence;
