Senate met pursuant to adjournment, at 10 o'clock.

The President and President pro tem. being absent, the Senate was called to order by the Assistant Secretary.

On motion of Senator Howland, Senator Harrison of Marion was called to the chair.

Prayer by the Rev. R. H. Manier, Chaplain of the Senate.

The roll of the Senate having been called by the Assistant Secretary, the following Senators were found to be present:

Messrs. Baldwin, Bonner, Goebel, Harrison of Camden, Harrison of Marion, Howland, Kayser, Marvin, Muench and Thompson-10.

Absent-Messrs. Cox, Deal, Denny, Doniphan, Frost, Gordon, Gravelly, Hickox, Mack, Miller, Mosby, Norriss, Pratt, Ritchey, Simmons, Smith, Snidow, Stevenson and Young-19.

No quorum being present, on motion of Senator Harrison of Camden,
The Senate adjourned until 10 o'clock to-morrow morning.
