1. To God the mighty Lord,
Your joyful thanks repeat:
To him due praise afford,
As good as he is great.
For God does prove

383.

1. The Lord is my shepherd: therefore can I lack nothing.

2. He shall feed me in green pastures: and lead me forth beside the waters of comfort.

1. Hold not thy tongue, O God, keep not still silence refrain not thyself, O God.

2. For lo, thine enemies make a murmuring: and they that hate thee lift up their heads.

3. They have imagined craftily against thy people and taken counsel against thy secret ones. 13. O my God, make them like unto a wheel : and as the stubble before the wind.

18. And they shall know that thou whose name is Jehovah art only the most Highest over all the earth. Amen.

1. Lord, thou art become gracious to thy land: thou hast turned away the captivity of Jacob.

2. Thou hast forgiven the offences of thy people and covered all their sin.

4. Turn us then, O God our Saviour: and let thine anger cease from us.

6. Wilt thou not turn again and quicken us: that thy people may rejoice in thee?

SOLO COUNTER TENOR.

He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord, and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

Yea, like as a father pitieth his own children, even so is the Lord merciful to them that fear him.

7. Shew us thy mercy, O Lord, and grant us thy salvation.

1. Out of the deep have I called unto thee, O Lord Lord, hear my voice.

2. O let thine ears consider well the voice of my complaint.

3. For if thou, Lord, wilt be extreme to mark what is done amiss: O Lord, who may abide it?

4. For there is mercy with thee therefore shalt thou be feared. Amen.

PSALM II. SOLO BASS.

1. Why do the heathen so furiously rage together: and why do the people imagine a vain thing? 2. The kings of the earth stand up, and the rulers take counsel together: against the Lord, and against his Anointed.

3. Let us break their bonds asunder: and cast away their yokes from us.

O Lord, who hast taught us that all our doings without charity, are nothing worth, send thy Holy Ghost, and pour into our hearts that most excellent gift of charity, the very bond of peace, and of all virtues, without which whosoever liveth is counted dead before thee: grant this for thy only Son Jesus Christ's sake.
