THIS day, the Lords being met, a message was sent to the Honourable House of Commons by the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod,

acquainting them, that The Lords, authorized by virtue of a Commission under the Great Seal, signed by Her Majesty, for declaring Her Royal Assent to several Acts agreed upon by both Houses, do desire the immediate attendance of the Honourable House in the House of Peers to hear the Commission read; and the Commons being come thither, the said Commission, empowering the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury, the Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain, and several other Lords therein named, to declare and notify the Royal Assent to the said Acts, was read accordingly, and the Royal Assent given to

An Act for reducing the duty on wheat and wheat flour, the produce of the province of Canada, imported thence into the United Kingdom.

An Act to amend the law relating to poundbreach and rescue in certain cases.

An Act to enable the Commissioners of Chelsea Hospital to purchase certain parcels of land for the benefit of the said hospital, and for other purposes.

An Act to amend the laws in force relating to grand jury presentments in counties of cities and towns in Ireland.

An Act for altering and enlarging the powers of the Act relating to the Maryport and Carlisle Railway.

An Act for improving and maintaining the port or harbour of Neath, in the county of Glamorgan. An Act for improving and maintaining the harbour of Aberdeen.

An Act for better supplying with water the borough of Kingston-upon-Hull.

And four private Acts.

This day had audience of Her Majesty, Mr. Tricoupi, Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary from the King of Greece, to deliver his letter of recall :

To which he was introduced by the Earl of Aberdeen, Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, and conducted by Sir Robert Chester, Knt. Master of the Ceremonies.

The Queen has been pleased to approve of Mr. Israel D. Andrews, as Consul at St. John's, New Brunswick, for the United States of America.

The Queen has also been pleased to approve of Mr. Alfred Fox, as Consul at Falmouth for the Republick of New Granada.

The Queen has been pleased to present the Reverend David Strong to the church and parish of Dailly, in the presbytery of Ayr and county of Ayr, vacant in consequence of the Reverend William Chalmers, late Minister thereof, having ceased to be a Minister of the Church of Scotland.

The Queen has also been pleased to present the Reverend John Wilson to the church and parish of Forgandenny, in the presbytery and county of Perth, vacant in consequence of the Reverend James Drummond, late Minister thereof, having ceased to be a Minister of the Church of Scotland.

The Queen has also been pleased to present the Reverend David Thomson to the church and parish of Forgan, or St. Phillans, in the presbytery of St. Andrews and county of Fife, vacant in consequence of the Reverend Charles Nairn, late Minister thereof, having ceased to be a Minister of the Church of Scotland.

The Queen has also been pleased to present the Reverend Alexander Gardner to the charge and office of Second Minister of the church and parish of Brechin, in the presbytery of Brechin and shire of Angus, vacant in consequence of the Reverend Alexander Leith Ross Foote, late Minister thereof, having ceased to be a Minister of the Church of Scotland.

The Queen has also been pleased to present the Reverend Francis MacGill to the united churches and parishes of Larbert and Dunipace, in the presbytery and county of Stirling, vacant in consequence of the Reverend John Bonar, late Minister thereof, having ceased to be a Minister of the Church of Scotland.

The Queen has also been pleased to present the Reverend Robert J. Johnstone to the church and parish of Dunblane, and presbytery of Dunblane and county of Perth, vacant in consequence of the Reverend William M'Kenzie, late Minister thereof, having ceased to be a Minister of the Church of Scotland.

The QUEEN's Most Excellent Majesty in Council.

WHEREAS the Ecclesiastical Commissioners for England have, in pursuance of an Act, passed in the session of Parliament held in the sixth and seventh years of the reign of His late Majesty King William the Fourth, intituled "An Act for carrying into effect the reports of the "Commissioners appointed to consider the state "of the Established Church in England and "Wales, with reference to ecclesiastical duties "and revenues, so far as they relate to episcopal "dioceses, revenues, and patronage;" and of an Act, passed in the session of Parliament held in the third and fourth years of Her Majesty's reign, intituled "An Act to carry into "effect, with certain modifications, the fourth "report of the Commissioners of Ecclesiastical "Duties and Revenues;" and of another Act, passed in the last session of Parliament, intituled "An Act to alter and amend the law relating to ecclesiastical houses of residence,"
