LETTER OF TRANSMITTAI,
CoMMITTEE on GoverNMENT OPERATIONs, Washington, D.C., September 17, 1974. Hon. SAM J. ERVIN, Jr., Chairman, Committee on Government Operations, U.S. Senate, Washington, D.C.
DEAR SAM: The Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations, established by Public Law 86–380, will mark its fifteenth anniversary on September 24, 1974. To note this occasion and as part of its responsibility to evaluate the recommendations and work of the Advisory Commission, the Subcommittee on Intergovernmental Relations recently requested the staff of the ACIR to prepare a Fifteen-Year Report. This report updates two similar reports prepared at five-year intervals by the Commission staff.
Because of its interest to all members of the Committee on Government Operations and the public at large, I respectfully request that the attached Fifteen-Year Report of the Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations and my Introduction be printed as a Committee Print.
With best wishes.
