REORGANIZATION ACT 1

Public Law 93–198; 93rd Congress, S. 1435; December 24, 1973

AN ACT To reorganize the government structure of the District of Columbia, to pro-

vide a charter for local government in the District of Columbia subject to accept-

ance by a majority of the registered qualified electors in the District of Columbia,

to delegate certain legislative powers to the local government, to implement cer-

tain recommendations of the commission on the organization of the government

of the District of Columbia, and the other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the

United States of America in Congress assembled,
