by Government, you are to collect them together, and fend them in a drove, with an account of them.

If any of these bullocks fhould be of a small fize, you are nevertheless not to diminish their loads: the proprietor of such bullocks muft either bear the load himself, or find bullocks that will carry them.

61. If a greater quantity of kulthee, or other articles fhall be ordered, than can be tranfported to the army, to the Moodeekhana*, or to Agran puttun, upon the bullocks in the fervice, others are to be hired for the occafion; and the rate of hire to be paid for them, is one Fanam for every distance of Sultannee Kurohs which they may travel; and each of these hired bullocks is to be dispatched with a load of 105 full deks of grain, or eight uttuls in weight. The hire, as above fixed, is to be paid, and a receipt to be taken. Frequent applications are not to be made to Government about paying hire.

62. Formerly the customs were made a feparate farm; but this farm is difcontinued, and the cuftoms are to be collected at each Moza throughout the diftrict, and are to be included in the fummabundy.

63. The Deoftaun lands are all to be refumed throughout your diftrict; and after afcertaining to what Simpts they formerly appertained, you shall re-annex them, and include them in the Jummabundy of those Simpts.

64. Whenever the towers and fortreffes of the villages in your diftrict are furrounded by hedges of Sikakauhee and Cujcu, you are to raise behind fuch hedges, other hedges of Boha trees, otherwife called the Munjeenaur; where there are no fuch hedges as above described, you are to make them of Sikakauhee, Cujca, and Boha.-You are alfo to enclose plantations and fields with the Boha, and give ftrict orders that no one shall break them without permiffion from the Aumil. You are to make the Reyuts

deliver annually a quantity of Boha, in the proportion of 5 Utteels to every 1000 pagodas in the fummabundy of your district, and are to fend it to your Cutchery upon the bullocks which are kept in the fervice of Government.

65. The repairs of fuch forts, &c. as belong to the Ummul, are to be made by the Aumil; and the repairs of those which belong to the department of the Coondachar and Kelladar, are, according to the regulations, to be made by the Kelladar-but the whole expence of these last repairs is nevertheless to be entered in your accounts of buildings.

66. The Aumil of the diftrict shall firft take a firelock himself, and fhall require of the Reyuts, and of the Muflemaun, Mahrattah, and other inhabitants of the Cufbah, that every houfe fhall furnish one man with a firelock, and on every Friday these mien fhall be affembled before the Aumil,

and made to go through the exercife.And in every village throughout the diftrict, the inhabitants fhall be required to keep firelocks, and to affemble and go through the exercise every Friday; and every abfentee fhall be fined in the fum of 5 fanams-Regular mufter-rolls and accounts of the fines are to be kept and tranfmitted to the Huzzoor: thefe fines are not to be included in the fummabundy.

67, In the fort, there is a house belonging to Government, appointed for the Cutchery befides this, if there should be any other house belonging to Government, for the refidence of the Kelladar and Aumil, well and good; otherwife houses, containing each of them twenty Chefmais,* fhall be erected at the diflance of 50 Deras from the Cutchery, at the expence of Government, for the Kelladar and Aumil, and they are to be kept in repair by Government-One of thefe buildings is for the refidence of the Kelladar, and the other for

the Ummuldar; and whoever happens to be the Aumil and Kelladar fhall occupy them; there is no occation for more than twenty Chefmais in each. The Kelladar and Aumil shall fit and tranfact their business together in one of the Chefhmais of the CutcheryIf there is no Cutchery in the fort, a Cutchery containing 7 Cheshmais shall be built, and they fhall both tranfact business in it.

68. If the Reyuts, in discharge of their rents, fhall offer gold, filver, copper, or brafs, thefe articles are not to be difpofed of to traders, but are to be purchased for Government, according to the price-current of the Bazar; and to be entered in the accounts of the office, and to be forwarded with the account of them to the Cutchery at the fame time with the supplies of stores. If in breach of this rule you fhall allow these articles to be difpofed of to merchants, and receive the purchafe money on account of Government, you will incur the displeafure of Government.
