The Queen has been pleased to grant unto William Newby, of Liverpool, in the county palatine of Lancaster, only son of Nicholas Newby, sometime of Liverpool, deceased, by Mary Newby, ln's wife (now wife of Henry Fraser, of Liverpool), Her royal licence and authority that he may, in compliance with the wish and desire of the said Henry Fraser, henceforth continue to use the surname of Fraser (which he has long borne and used), in addition to and after that of Newby, and that such surname may be taken and used by his issue:

And to command that the said royal confession and declaration be recorded in Her Majesty's College of Arms, otherwise to be void and of none effect.

This Gazette also contains two Orders from the Poor Law Board, to the Overseers of the Poor of the townships of Ecclesall Bierlow and Xether Hallam, in the county of York, and all others whom it may concern, dated the 9th day of June 1851, directing that the Act of 13th and 14th Victoria, cap. 57, intituled "An Act to prevent the holding of vestry or other meetings in churches, and for regulating the appointment of vestry clerks," shall, so far as the same relates to the appointment of a vestry clerk, be applied to tnd put in force within both of the said townthips of Ecclesall Bierlow and Nether Hallam.

THE Queen has been pleased to present the Reverend Evan Jenkins to the Vicarage of Kinivilgaio, alias Conwilgaio, alias Cynwyl Gaio with Llansawell, in the county of Carmarthen, and diocese of St. David's, void by the cession of the Reverend George Howells, the last Incumbent.

The Queen has been pleased to grant the place of one of the Lords of Session in Scotland to John Cowan, Esq. Her Majesty's SolicitorGeneral for Scotland, in the room of Thomas Maitland, Esq. deceased.

The Queen has also heen pleased to nominate and appoint the said John Cowan to be one of the Lords of Justiciary in Scotland, in the room of the said Thomas Maitland, deceased.
