THE Queen has been pleased to appoint Samuel Morton Peto, Esq. to be Deputy Chairman of the Metropolitan Commissioners of Sewers.

In pursuance of the directions of an Act, passed in the twenty-fourth year of the reign of His late Majesty King George the Third, intituled "An Act to repeal so much of two Acts, made "in the tenth and fifteenth years of the reign of "His present Majesty, as authorizes the Speaker "of the House of Commons to issue his warrant "to the Clerk of the Crown for making out writs "for the election of Members to serve in Par

liament, in the manner therein mentioned, and "for substituting other provisions for the like "purposes:"

I do hereby give notice, that the death of Henry Broadley, Esq. late a Member serving in this present Parliament for the East Riding of the county of York, bath been certified to me in writing, under the hands of two Members serving in this present Parliament, and that I shall

issue my warrant to the Clerk of the Crown to make out a new writ for the electing of a Member to serve in this present Parliament for the said East Riding of the county of York, at the end of fourteen days after the insertion of this notice in the London Gazette.

MEMORANDUM.

The date of the commission of Lieutenant Robert William Benison, of the 99th Foot, to be 18th February 1851, instead of 22nd February 1850.

Then follow two warrants of the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, appointing under the authority of "An Act to amend the laws relating to the Customs," legal quays for the 1851. 2 E

lading and unlading of goods within the port of Liverpool, dated 26th August 1851, and within the port of Shields, dated the 28th August 1851.

This Gazete also contains an Order, dated the 16th day of August 1851, from the Poor Law Board, to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the parish of Mold, in the county of Flint, and to all others whom it may concern, directing that so much of the Act 13th and 14th Victoria, cap. 57, intituled "An Act to prevent the holding of vestry or other meetings in churches, and for regulating the appointment of vestry clerks," as relates to the appointment of a vestry clerk, shall forthwith be applied to and put in force within the said parish of Mold.

Also a similar Order of the same date, to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the parish of St. Mary Abbotts, Kensington, and to all others whom it may concern, directing that the whole of the aforesaid Act shall forthwith be applied to and be put in force within the said parish of St. Mary Abbotts, Kensington.
