The Queen has been pleased to grant unto Joseph-Clayton Jennyns, of King-street, in the parish of St. James, in the city of Westminster, late a Lieutenant in Her Majesty's 15th (or King's) Regiment of Hussars, and to Elizabeth-Sarah, his wife, only child of John-Samuel-Willes Johnson, Esq. a Captain in the Royal Navy, by Elizabeth, his wife, deceased, only daughter of John De Windt, and sister of Peter-Henry-Adolphus De Windt, of Gloucester-place, in the parish of St. Marylebone, in the county of Middlesex, and afterwards of the city of Paris, Esq. also deceased, Her royal licence and authority that, in order to testify their grateful and affectionate regard to the memory of the said Peter-Henry-Adolphus De Windt, Esq. they may henceforth assume and take the surname of De Windt, in lieu of that of Jennyns, and that the said Joseph-Clayton

Jennyns may bear the arms of De Windt quarterly, in the first quarter, with those of Jennyns, and that the said surnrme and arms, may in like manner be taken, borne, and used by their issue; such arms being first duly exemplified according to the laws of arms, and recorded in the Heralds' Office, otherwise the said royal licence and permission to be void and of none effect:

And also to command that the said royal concession and declaration be registered in Her Majesty's College of Arms.

East India-House, the 25th February 1851.

Her Majesty having been graciously pleased to assent to a Medal being granted to the surviving officers and soldiers of the Crown and of the East India Company who were engaged in the several services enumerated in the following list, including the officers and seamen of the Royal Navy, and the Company's Marine, who took part in the Burmese war; notice is hereby given, that general and other officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers of the East India Company's Army, who are entitled to this honorary distinction, are to apply for the same to the Secretary to the Court of Directors of the East India Company, and to send at the same time, in writing, a statement of the claim, specifying in what action, and at what period of time they served, accompanied by any certificates calculated to substantiate the claim.
