With the proceedings of the January meeting, 1898, the third volume of the association's publications is completed. It will consist of the four parts in which the proceedings of 1895, 1896, 1897, 1898, successively appeared. An unusual delay in the collection of the papers for part 3 (meeting of 1897), rendered it more feasible to issue that number in a pamphlet under the same covers with part 4 (meeting of 1898). Therefore, while there will be four distinct parts in the consolidated volume, when arranged for binding, there will be but three pamphlets covering the period. A title page and table of contents for the whole is appended at the end of part 4. This may be readily detached by the binder or transferred to its proper place at the beginning of the volume. An index for the whole has also been prepared. Volume three of the Proceedings is respectfully submitted as the contribution of this association to the literature of the modern organizations of American lawyers. June 22, 1898. JAMES W.
