roads have recommended to fix the minimum salary of $720 with the repeal of the law allowing carriers to handle express packages; therefore be it Resolved, That it is the sense of the Legislature of Kentucky, that the salary of the R. F. D. carriers should be not less than $850, with the privilege of handling express packages as provided by the existing law. And that our Senators be instructed, and our Representatives be requested to take the necessary steps to have said relief granted by the post office department, at Washington. Hopkins, extending the provisions of the pension laws to certain soldiers who served in the Union in Kentucky. WHEREAS, A large number of the citizens of this State were organized as State Militia, for the defense of the Union in Kentucky, during the war of the Rebellion; and, WHEREAS, The provisions of the existing pension laws do not extend to the members of the said militia; and, WHEREAS, The Honorable Frank A. Hopkins, of the Teuth Congressional District, of Kentucky, has intro-1 duced a bill in the present Congress, extending the provisions of the Pension Act of June twenty-eighth, eighteen hundred and ninety, to the said militia of Kentucky, Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: § 1. That we heartily endorse the said bill and respectfully urge the Congress of the United States, to enact the said bill into law for the relief of the citizens of this State, who thus served the Union in Kentucky. § 2.
