THE following Addresses of Congratulation to the Queen, on the attainment of his Majority by His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, having been transmitted to the Right Honourable Sir George Grey, Baronet, Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for the Home Department, for Presentation, have accordingly been presented by him to Her Majesty, who has been pleased to receive the same very graciously:

WE your Majesty's dutiful and loyal subjects, the Mayor, Aldermen, and Burgesses of the borough of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, pray your Majesty's gracious acceptance of our sincere congratulations on the attainment of his majority by His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales.

We fervently hope that your Majesty may be destined long to reign over a free, happy, and loyal people, and that His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales may emulate the virtues of his Royal Parents.

THE Right Honourable the Lords of the Committee of Privy Council for Trade have received from the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, a copy of a Despatch from Her Majesty's

Consul-General, in Norway, enclosing a transla tion of a Swedish Royal Decree, prohibiting the importation of corn brandy, and fixing as follows, the duties upon other kinds of brandies imported into Sweden:

In pottles or jars, without reference to strength, per pot, 21 skillings.

In other packages, of a strength not exceeding 88 per cent., per lb., 12 skillings.

For every half per cent. strength above 88, skilling additional per lb.

The strength to be determined by the authorized hydrometer.

If the wares are mixed with sugar or other ingredien's causing the hydrometer to indicate incorrectly, the duty is to be paid as on spirits of 100 per cent. strength.

Tare on casks weighing from 250 lbs. or more, allowance is to be given of 15 per cent; on casks of less weight, 23 per cent.

The above resolution will come into force on the 1st February next, and remain in operation until the 1st April following.
