said council, by ordinance or resolution thereof, legally enacted, shall designate. Said sums of money to be paid to the board of directors of the special school district of Atkins, Pope County, Arkansas. Said sums of money to be used exclusively for school purposes, and that the acts of said council in this respect are hereby approved and validated. SECTION 2. That all laws and parts of laws in conflict herewith are repealed, and this Act shall take effect from and after its passage. Approved January 27, 1905. ACT 8. Salary of County Judge of Desha County fixed at $1,250. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas: SECTION I. That section 7413 of Kirby's Digest be amended so as to read as follows: The salary of the County and Probate Judge of Desha County shall be $1,250 per annum. SECTION 2. This Act repeals all laws and parts of laws in conflict herewith and takes effect and be in force. from and after its passage. Approved January 30, 1905. ACT II. AN ACT to amend section 3 of Act No. 9, approved February 3, 1903, entitled "An Act prohibiting the hawking or peddling or selling of beef in Desha County, except in compliance with certain conditions." SECTION I. Amends section 3, of Act 9, approved February 3, 1903, relating to the peddling of beef in Desha County, provisions extended to Chicot and Ashley Counties. 2. Laws in conflict repealed; Act in force from passage. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas: SECTION I. That section 3 of Act No. 9, approved February 3. 1903, be amended to read as follows: Section 3. That any person violating any of the provisions of section I of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not less than twenty-five dollars ($25), nor more than two hundred and fifty dollars ($250). Provided, that the provisions of this Act apply only to the counties of Desha and Chicot and Ashley. SECTION 2. That all laws and parts of laws in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed, and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its passage. Approved February 1, 1905. ACT 12. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas: SECTION I. That all of sections 16, 21 and 28, lying south and west of the Arkansas River and all of sections 5 and 8, lying west and south of the Arkansas River; all of sections 7, 17, 19 and 20, and the south half of the northeast quarter of section 18, and the east half and the northeast quarter of the northwest quarter of section 30, and all of section 29 west and south of the Arkansas River; all of said above described lands being in township 5 south, of range 9 west, in Jefferson County, Arkansas, be and the same is hereby formed into a levee district to be known as the Tucker Lake Levee District. SECTION 2. Be it further enacted, that Gabe Meyer, George A. Partridge, W. T. McFadden, Charles Winfrey and F. H. Walker are hereby appointed and constituted a board of commissioners and inspectors, who shall hold their offices until their successors are elected and qualified, as hereinafter directed, and said inspectors shall, at an early day after the passage of this Act, meet at the city of Pine Bluff, in Jefferson County, qualify, organize and proceed to discharge the duties required of them under this Act. SECTION 3. It shall be the duty of said inspectors to organize by electing one of their number president of the board, who shall preside at all regular and called meetings of the board.
