price to be fixed by the commission, and after defraying all expenses of publication, sale and distribution, they shall deposit in the State treasury the net proceeds of the sale; provided, that no member of the commission nor the author of any paper in the publication shall receive any compensation for his services. The commission shall, furthermore, file with the Governor an itemized statement of all receipts and disbursements of funds. Said statement shall be sworn to by the chairman and the secretary, and shall contain proper vouchers.

SECTION 3. That there be and the same is hereby appropriated from any funds in the State treasury, not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $1,000 to aid said commission in printing said volume of the publications of the Arkansas Historical Association, and $250 to defray the necessary expenses incurred by said commission in conducting the investigation required by this Act, and the Auditor is hereby authorized to draw his warrants for said sum or any part thereof on the application of the chairman of said commission when said application is approved by the Governor.

[This bill having been vetoed by the Governor, was passed over his veto by the constitutional majority of both houses, and was filed in the Secretary of State's office by the private secretary to the Governor, April 27, 1905.]

AN ACT to repeal Act 188, entitled "An Act to place the officers of Hot Spring County on a salary."

SECTION

I.

Repeals Act No. 188 of the Acts of 1903. Salaries of county officers of Hot Spring County.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas:

I.

SECTION 1. That Act 188 of the Acts of 1903, entitled "An Act to place the officers of Hot Spring County on a salary," approved May 4, 1903, except as to county and probate judge, be and the same is hereby repealed.

SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

AN ACT to provide for the support and maintenance

of the Arkansas Deaf Mute Institute.

SECTION

1. Appropriates money for support and maintenance of Arkansas Deaf Mute Institute for two years.

2.

Relates to teachers and employees and power of board of trustees.

3. Board of trustees and superintendent to elect officers, teachers and employees. Board may discharge for any cause teacher, officer or employee.

4. Superintendent authorized to buy emergency supplies not to exceed $100 at any one time.

5. No money can be used for any purpose for which it was not appropriated.

6. Fiscal year shall end on December 31. Reports to be made in detail, etc.

7. Laws in conflict repealed; Act in force from April 1, 1905.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas:

SECTION I. That the following sums of money, or as much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same are hereby appropriated for the support and maintenance of the Arkansas Deaf Mute Institute for two (2) years, beginning April 1, 1905, and ending March 31, 1907:

First. To pay the salary of the superintendent, who shall be elected for a term of two years, twelve hundred dollars ($1,200) per annum ($2,400).

Second. To pay the salary of the matron, nine hundred dollars ($900).

Third. To pay salary of assistant matron, eight hundred dollars ($800).

Fourth. To pay the salary of housekeeper, eight hundred dollars ($800).

Fifth. To pay the salary of a trained nurse at the Hospital, eight hundred dollars ($800).

Sixth. To pay the salary of assistant nurse at Hospital, three hundred and sixty dollars ($360).

Seventh. To pay the salary of twenty literary teachers, twenty-one thousand three hundred and fifty dollars ($21,350).

Eighth. To pay the salary of teachers of kindergarten department, eight hundred dollars ($800).

Ninth. To pay the salary of teacher of physical culture, eight hundred dollars ($800).

Tenth. To pay the salary of teacher of art, ten hundred dollars ($1,000).

Eleventh. To pay the salary of teacher of domestic science, eight hundred dollars ($800).

Twelfth. To pay the salary of teacher of printing, fourteen hundred dollars ($1,400).

Thirteenth. To pay the salary of teacher of shoemaking and harnessmaking, twelve hundred dollars ($1,200).

Fourteenth. To pay the salary of teacher of carpentry and cabinetmaker, twelve hundred dollars ($1,200.)

Fifteenth. To pay the salary of teacher of tailoring, twelve hundred dollars ($1,200).

Sixteenth. To pay the salary of the teacher of dressmaking and sewing, seven hundred and twenty dollars ($720).

Seventeenth. To pay the salary of the supervisor of boys, six hundred dollars ($600).

Eighteenth. To pay the salary of governess of little boys, four hundred and eighty dollars ($480).

Nineteenth. To pay the salary of supervisor of girls, six hundred dollars, ($600).

Twentieth. To pay the salary of physician, who shall be the physician for the Arkansas School for the Blind, seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750).

Twenty-first. To pay the salary of the aurist and oculist, who shall be the aurist and oculist for the Arkansas School for the Blind, nine hundred dollars ($900).

Twenty-second. To pay the salary of the night watchman, eight hundred dollars ($800).

Twenty-third. To pay the salary of the engineer and plumber, fourteen hundred dollars ($1,400).

Twenty-fourth. To pay the salary of assistant engineer, eight hundred dollars ($800).

Twenty-fifth. To pay the salary of fireman, four hundred and eighty dollars ($480).

Twenty-sixth. To pay the salary of kalsominer, plasterer and paperhanger, who shall do the work of the Deaf Mute and Blind Institutions of this State, and wito shall teach the same to such deaf mute students as are qualified, ten hundred dollars ($1,000).

Twenty-seventh. To pay the salary of head cook and two assistants, fifteen hundred and eighty dollars ($1,580).

Twenty-eighth. To pay the salary of baker and one assistant, nine hundred and eighteen dollars ($918).

Twenty-ninth. To pay the wages of six (6) servants and house help, thirteen hundred and eighty dollars ($1,380).

Thirtieth. To pay the wages of six (6) dining room help, fourteen hundred and forty dollars ($1,440).

Thirty-first. To pay the salary of head laundryman and seven assistants, sixteen hundred dollars ($1,600).

Thirty-second. To pay the salary of hostler and general outside man, four hundred and eighty dollars .($480).

Thirty-third. To pay the salary of one assistant outside man and yard man, three hundred and sixty dollars ($360).

Thirty-fourth. To pay the salary of bookkeeper and stenographer to the superintendent, ten hundred dollars ($1,000).

Thirty-fifth. To pay the salary of dentist, three hundred dollars ($300).
