The Queen has been pleased to grant_unto Lieutenant George-Edward Turner, of the Royal Artillery, Her royal licence and permission, that he may accept and wear the insignia of the National and Military Order of Saint Ferdinand, of the first class; the insignia of a Supernumerary Knight of the Royal and Distinguished Order of Charles the Third; and the insignia of a Commander of the Royal Order of Isabella the Catholic; which the Queen Regent of Spain has been pleased to confer upon that Officer, in testimony of Her Catholic Majesty's royal approbation of his services in the field while attached to Lieutenant-Colonel William Wylde, of the Royal Artillery, British Commissioner at the head-quarters of the Spanish army, and of his conduct during the operations in Navarre, in April and May last; and that he may enjoy all the rights and privileges thereunto annexed; provided, nevertheless, that Her Majesty's said licence and permission doth not authorize the assumption of any style, appellation, rank, precedence, or privilege appertaining unto a Knight Bachelor of these realms: And also to command, that Her Majesty's said concession and especial mark of Her royal favour be registered, together with the relative documents, in Her Majesty's College of Arms.
