2. For completing cottages five and six, including steam, water, sewer and lighting connections. As at Albion, the appropriation made at the last Legislature was not sufficiently large to cover the outside connections and other matters that it was necessary to eliminate in order to erect the buildings for occupancy.

3. For barn and root cellar....

The barn at this institution is in a very dilapidated condition and must be rebuilt. It is desirable that at the same time a root cellar should be built in conjunction therewith. With proper storage facilities a sufficient quantity of vegetables could be stored here for the entire winter, thus enabling the institution, which is in a remote section, to make purchases in the fall at a very much lower price.

5. For duplicate boiler feed pump and governor...

It is very necessary that the funds for a new stack and boiler feed pump and governor be appropriated this year. The institution has very much increased in population, and, while I should like very much to make a recommendation in this line similar to that at Albion, the fact that the stack, which has been built many years, shows a tendency to topple over, the necessity for the rebuilding of the same is urgent and, when it is rebuilt, it will be large enough to cover the needs of

the institution for all time.

6. For repairs and equipment.

The following statement of the disposition of the appropriations for extraordinary repairs and improvements is brought up to the date of calculation, which is March 1, 1906; this having been done with a view to giving an exact knowledge of the conditions that subsequent requirements might be more closely estimated:
