This building is very much needed at the institution for industrial purposes and as an amusement hall. While it is true that an estimate has been made that would bring the cost to nearly fifty per cent more than this amount, I am assured by the superintendent that such a building as is wanted by the Board of Managers can be erected for this sum.

4. For two story and basement brick building for storage and fire apparatus supplies and for additional fire protective appliances........

The buildings are so scattered that it requires much fire apparatus to properly cover the same, and it is proposed to store the same where it can be reached with as little delay as possible.

5. For furnishings for two hundred patients....

Last year the sum of $90,000 was appropriated for dormitories for two hundred patients. It will require the above sum to properly furnish and equip the same.

These two appropriations contemplate the removal of a building and repairing of the same, and the addition of verandas to four, all of which will be a very marked general improvement.

9. For local and long distance telephone...

It is necessary to renew the telephone line at the institution, that at present is almost entirely worn out and does not give satisfactory service.

10. For installing electric lighting and telephone

wires in conduit in women's group..

The following statement of the disposition of the appropriations for extraordinary repairs and improvements is brought up to the date of calculation, which is March 1, 1906; this having been done with a view to giving an exact knowledge of the conditions that subsequent requirements might be more closely estimated:
