3. L.M.- Public Worship. Ps. c. 1 ALL people that on earth do dwell, Sing to the Lord with cheerful voice; Him serve with fear, his praise forth tell, Come ye before him and rejoice. 2 The Lord, ye know, is God indeed, Without our aid he did us make; We are his flock, he doth us feed, And for his sheep he doth us take. 3 O enter then his gates with praise, Approach with joy his courts unto; Praise, laud, and bless his name always, For it is seemly so to do. His mercy is for ever sure; 4. L.M.- Public Worship. Ps.c. 1 BEFORE Jehovah's awful throne, Ye nations bow with sacred joy; Know that the Lord is God alone; He can create, and he destroy. 2 His sovereign power without our aid, Made us of clay, and formed us men; And when like wandering sheep we stray'd, He brought us to his fold again. 3 [We are his people, we his care, Our souls, and all our mortal frame: What lasting honours shall we rear, Almighty Maker, to thy name?) 4 We'll crowd thy gates with thankful songs, High as the heavens our voices raise; Shall fill thy courts with sounding praise. 5 Wide as the world is thy command, Vast as eternity thy love; When rolling years shall cease to move. 5. P.M.- Public Worship. Ps. xcv. 1 O COME, let us sing to the Lord, In God, our salvation, rejoice; In psalms of thanksgiving record His praise, with one heart and one voice: For Jehovah is King, and he reigns, The God of all gods, on his throne: The strength of the hills he maintains, The ends of the earth are his own. 2 The sea is Jehovah's - he made The tide its dominion to know: Its solid foundation below. Before our Creator, our God The flock whom he guides with his rod. 3 As Moses the fathers of old, Through the sea and the wilderness led, His wonderful works we behold, With manna from heaven are fed; To-day let us hearken, to-day, To the voice that yet speaks from above, And all his commandments obey, For all his commandments are love. 4 His wrath let us fear to provoke, To dwell in his favour unite; His service is freedom, his yoke Is easy, his burden is light: But, Oh! of rebellion beware, Rebellion that hardens the breast, Lest God in his anger should swear That we shall not enter his rest. 6. P.M.–Public Worship. 1 LO! God is here! let us adore, And own how dreadful is this place! Let all within us feel his power, , And silent bow before his face! Who know his power, his grace who prove, Serve him with awe, with reverence love. 2 Lo! God is here! Him day and night Th' united choirs of angels sing: To him enthron'd above all height, Heaven's host their noblest praises bring: Disdain not, Lord, our meaner song, Who serve thee with a stammering tongue. 3 Gladly the toys of earth we leave, Wealth, pleasure, fame, for thee alone; To thee our will, soul, flesh, we give; O take, O seal them for thine own! Thou art the God, thou art the Lord; Be thou by all thy works ador'd. 4 Being of Beings! may thy praise Thy courts with grateful fragrance fill: Still may we stand before thy face, Still hear and do thy sovereign will: To thee may all our thoughts arise, Ceaseless, accepted sacrifice! 7. Of our Eternal King; Thrice holy, let us sing. 2 Holy is he in all his works, And truth is his delight; Shall perish from his sight. Pay, O my soul, to God; To his sublime abode. Whom words nor thoughts can reach; A broken heart shall please him more Than the best forms of speech. From all pollution free; And they thy face shall see. 8. C.M.— The day approaching, a motive to love and worship. Heb. x. 24, 25. The great decisive day, Shall bear thee far away. And lo, the Judge appears! And sink, ye darken'd stars. One precious hour remain; Nor let it pass in vain. And at that bar appear; To mutual comfort here. 5 For this thy temple, Lord, we throng; For this thy board surround; 9. C.M.- Worship in God's house, here and hereafter. Ps. xxiii. 6. 1 MY soul, triumphant in the Lord, Shall tell its joys abroad; Supported by its God. His hand has been my guide, My heart shall still confide. An unexhausted stream; Shall be my endless theme. These distant courts I love; To view thy house above. My soul would there adore; 10. L.M.- The Lord's day morning. Another sabbath is begun; Improve the day thy God hath blest. 2 Come, bless the Lord, whose love assigns So sweet a rest to weary, minds; |
