Penitentiary, which expired under the commutation law November 24, 1895, (A 6747). On December 19, 1898, at the age of thirtythree years, he was convicted in the Court of Philadelphia County of attempted burglary and was sentenced to three years in this Penitentiary, which expired under the commutation law July 12, 1901, (A 9996). On December 19, 1911, at the age of forty seven years, he was convicted in the United States District Court, at Philadelphia of using the mails and devising a means to defraud and was sentenced to one year and four months in this Penitentiary, his present term (B 6002). He is a native of Philadelphia, attended public school three years, is moderate and married.

59 (B 6007), received December 20, 1911. On October 31, 1881, at the age of twenty nine years, he was convicted in the Court of Philadelphia County of attempted larceny and sentenced to three years in this Penitentiary, which expired under the commutation law June 30, 1884 (A 983). On December 19, 1884, at the age of thirty two years, he was convicted in the Court of Philadelphia County of attempted larceny and sentenced to two years and six months in this Penitentiary, which expired under the commutation law April 19, 1887 (A 2441). On September 21, 1887, at the age of thirty four years, he was convicted in the Court of Philadelphia County of larceny and sentenced to one year and six months in this Penitentiary, which expired under the commutation law February 21, 1889 (A 3914). On July 3, 1890, at the age of thirty eight years, he was convicted in the Court of Philadelphia County of larceny and sentenced to three years in this Penitentiary, which expired under the commutation law March 3, 1893, (A 5465). On June 30, 1893, at the age of forty one years, he was convicted in the Court of Philadelphia County of larceny and sentenced to two years in this Penitentiary, which expired under the commutation law April 30, 1895 (A 6891). He also served four terms in the Philadelphia County Prison for larceny, two terms of six months each, one term of nine months, and one term of two years. On December 20, 1911, at the age of sixty nine years, he was convicted in the Court of Philadelphia County of entering with intent to steal and larceny and was sentenced to not less than five years and eleven months and not more than six years in this Penitentiary, his

present term (B 6007). He is a native of Philadelphia, moderate and a widower with one child.

60 (B 6012), received December 21, 1911. On December 4, 1906, at the age of twenty eight years, he was convicted in the Court of Franklin County of arson and sentenced to one year in this Penitentiary, which expired under the commutation law Oct. 4, 1907 (B 3468). On December 5, 1911, at the age of thirty three years, he was convicted in the Court of Franklin County of horse stealing and larceny and sentenced to not less than one year and not more than two years in this Penitentiary, his present term (B 6012). He is a native of Maryland, moderate and married.

Brief records of eighteen prisoners received during 1911, who have relatives in prison.

A. (B 5641), thirty two years of age. On January, 12, 1911, she was convicted in the Court of Dauphin County of abortion and bigamy, and sentenced to an indefinite term of not less than one year and three months, and not more than five years in this Penitentiary, where she was received January 19, 1911. A nephew (B 3928) is serving a term of seven years and six months in this Penitentiary, for Rape.

B. (B5661), thirty nine years of age. On January 11, 1911, he was convicted in the Court of Carbon County of assault and battery and aggravated assault and battery, and was sentenced to an indefinite term of not less than nine months and not more than three years in this Penitentiary, where he was received on January 28, 1911. A brother is serving a term in the Carbon County Jail.

C. (B5670), twenty seven years of age. On February 3, 1911, he was convicted in the Court of Chester County of statutory burglary, and was sentenced to a term of not less than two years and six months, and not more than ten years in this Penitentiary, where he was received February 6, 1911. A cousin (B 5671) is serving a term of not less than two years and six months and not more than ten years in this Penitentiary, for statutory burglary, (see below).

D. (B 5671), eighteen years of age. On February 3, 1911, he was convicted in the Court of Chester County of statutory burglary, and was sentenced to a term of not less than two years and six months, and not more than ten years in this Penitentiary, where he was received February 6, 1911. A cousin (B 5670) is serving a term of not less than two years and six months and not more than ten years in this Penitentiary, for statutory burglary. (see above).
