I would suggest that you have the notary make two copies and file one in your safe for future reference in case you should want to show what your serial number applies to. Persons that got a serial number previous F. I. D. No. 96, May 25, 1908, without the future sentence in (B.) (3) should apply to the department and get permission to use said serial number on the articles that may have been added to their list after having gotten their serial number without the future sentence in it. If their application did not contain a future sentence, the serial number will not apply to future additions to their list. (F) Products not covered by the guaranty on file at the Department can be added thereto by executing another guaranty covering them to be filed as a supplement to the original instrument. (See B.) Manufacturers of so-called non-secrets must discontinue putting the names of dealers on goods as the manufacturers of the article. If a name as manufacturer appears, it must be the real maker of the package, or this class may be labeled "Made for Jones & Co.," "Distributed by Jones & Co.," giving name, place of business. The real manufacturer should be the guarantor. If the dealer should consent to supply his serial number to be put on the packages, he should demand of the manufacturere a guarantee as shown in Section 9 of the bill and explained in the preceding pages of this volume.
