Biography

GEORGE HENRY HEINKE was born on a farm near Dunbar, Otoe County, Nebr., July 22, 1882; attended the public schools and was graduated from the law department of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1908; was admitted to the bar the same year and commenced practice in Nebraska City, Nebr.; served as prosecuting attorney of Otoe County, Nebr., 1919-1923 and 1927-1935; elected as a Republican to the Seventy-sixth Congress and served from January 3, 1939, until his death in a hospital at Morrilton, Ark., January 2, 1940, the result of an automobile accident near there while en route to Washington to attend Congress; interment in Wyuka Cemetery, Nebraska City, Nebr.
