5 Teach my weak heart, O gracious LORD,
With stronger faith to call Thee mine;
Bid me pronounce the blissful word,
My FATHER, GOD, with joy divine.

Hymn.

Coronation.

1 LOOK, ye saints, the sight is glorious;

See "the man of sorrows" now: From the fight return'd victorious, Ev'ry knee to Him shall bow; Crown Him, crown Him: Crowns become the victor's brow.

2 Crown the SAVIOUR, angels crown Him:
Rich the trophies JESUS brings:
In the seat of pow'r enthrone Him,
While the vault of heaven rings:
Crown Him, crown Him:

Crown the SAVIOUR "KING OF KINGS!"

3 Sinners in derision crown'd Him,

Mocking thus the SAVIOUR'S claim; Saints and angels crowd around Him, Own His title, praise His name: Crown Him, crown Him:

Spread abroad the victor's fame.

4 Hark, those bursts of acclamation ! Hark, those loud triumphant chords! JESUS takes the highest station :

O what joy the sight affords!

Crown Him, crown Him,

[ocr errors]

“KING OF KINGs, and LoRD OF LORDS!”

Hymn.

Coronation.

ALL hail the pow'r of JESU's Name!

Let angels prostrate fall:

Bring forth the royal diadem,

And crown Him LORD of all.

2 Hail Him, ye heirs of David's line,
Whom David LORD did call-
The GOD incarnate-MAN divine-
And crown Him LORD of all.

3 Ye souls redeemed of Gentile race,
Ye ransom'd from the fall,
Hail Him, who saves you by His grace,
And crown Him LORD of all.

4 Let ev'ry kindred, ev'ry tribe,
Throughout this earthly ball,
To Him all majesty ascribe,

And crown Him LORD of all.

5 We too, amid the sacred throng, Low at His feet would fall,

1

Join in the everlasting song,
And crown Him LORD of all.

Hymn.

Name and Sulvation of Christ.

LET earth and heaven agree,
Angels and men be join'd,
To celebrate with me

The SAVIOUR of mankind;

T'adore the all-atoning LAMB,

And bless the sound of JESU's Name.

[merged small][ocr errors][merged small][merged small]

JESUS, transporting sound!
The joy of earth and heaven;
No other help is found,

No other Name is given,

By which we can salvation have:
But JESUS came the world to save.

JESUS, harmonious Name!

It charms the hosts above!
They evermore proclaim,
And wonder at His love!

"Tis all their happiness to gaze;
'Tis heaven to see our JESU's face.

His Name the sinner hears,

And is from sin set free;

"Tis music in his ears,

'Tis life and victory:

New songs do now his lips employ,
And dances his glad heart for joy.

O unexampled love!

O all-redeeming grace!

How swiftly didst thou move

To save a fallen race!

What shall I do to make it known,

What Thou for all mankind hast done?

O for a trumpet-voice,

On all the world to call!
To bid their hearts rejoice

In Him who died for all!

For all my LORD was crucified;
For all, for all my SAVIOUR died!

Hymn.

Name and Salvation of Christ.

1 How sweet the Name of JESUS sounds

In a believer's ear!

It soothes his sorrows, heals his wounds,
And drives away his fear.

2 It makes the wounded spirit whole,
And calms the troubled breast;
'Tis manna to the hungry soul,
And to the weary rest.

3 Dear Name! the rock on which I build, My shield and hiding-place;

My never-failing treas'ry, fill'd
With boundless stores of

grace.

4 JESUS, my Shepherd, Husband, Friend,
My Prophet, Priest, and King,
My LORD, my Life, my Way, my End,
Accept the praise I bring.

5 Weak is the effort of my heart,
And cold my warmest thought;
But when I see Thee as Thou art,
I'll praise Thee as I ought.

6 Till then I would Thy love proclaim
With ev'ry fleeting breath;

And may the music of Thy Name
Refresh my soul in death.

Hymn.

Name and Salvation of Christ.

1 THOU dear Redeemer, dying LAMB!
We love to hear of Thee;
No music like Thy charming Name,
Nor half so sweet can be.

2 O may we ever hear Thy voice
In mercy to us speak!

And in our Priest will we rejoice,
The great MELCHISEDEC.

3 Our JESUS shall be still our theme,
While in this world we stay;
We'll sing our JESU's lovely Name,
When all things else decay.

4 When we appear in yonder cloud,
With all His favour'd throng,

Then will we sing more sweet, more loud,.
And CHRIST shall be our song.

Hymn.

Types and Prophecies of Christ,

1 BEHOLD the woman's promis'd seed!

Behold the great MESSIAH come! Behold the prophets all agreed

To give him the superior room.

2 Abraham the saint rejoic'd of old,
When visions of the LORD he saw;
Moses the man of GOD foretold
This great fulfiller of his law.
