Wymn. Salvation by Grace. Harmonious to my ear; And all the earth shall hear. 2. Grace first contriv'd a way • To save rebellious man, And all the steps that grace display; Which drew the wondrous plan. 3 Grace taught my wand'ring feet • To tread the heav'nly road, And new supplies each hour I meet, While pressing on to God. Through everlasting days; And well deserves the praise. Wymn. Justification by Faith. 1 How shall we stand, when CHRIST appears? ; How come before our LORD? Avert the threat’ning sword ? Of lambs or bullocks spilt ? And think to hide their guilt? 3 Ah no; the LAMB of God alone, The LAMB, whom God has sent, And His just wrath prevent. On Thee our hopes we place: Say to our troubled spirits, Live; And save us by Thy grace. Hymn. Thee only would I know; And wash me white as snow. Purge my iniquity : I have no part with Thee. Answer, if mine Thou art! Whisper within, Thou Love divine, And cheer my drooping heart. 4 Tell me again my peace is made, And bid the sinner live : My FATHER must forgive. His wounds are open'd wide : For me the Blood of Sprinkling pleads, And speaks me justified. 6 My humbled soul, when thou art near, In dust and ashes lies : Or meet Thy purer eyes? 7 I loathe myself when God I see, And into nothing fall; * Content if Thou exalted be, And Christ be.
