Psalm CL.

Universal Praise.

1 PRAISE the LORD, who reigns above,
And keeps His court below;
Praise the holy Gop of love,
And all His greatness show:

2 Praise Him for His noble deeds,

Praise Him for His matchless pow'r; Him, from whom all good proceeds, Let Earth and Heav'n adore.

3 Celebrate th' eternal GOD
With harp and psaltery,
Timbrels soft, and cymbals loud
In His high praise agree:

4 Praise Him, ev'ry tuneful string,
All the reach of heav'nly art,
All the pow'rs of music bring,
The music of the heart.

.5 Him in whom they move and live
Let ev'ry creature sing,

Glory to their Maker give,
And homage to their King.

6 Hallowed be His Name beneath,

As in Heav'n on Earth ador'd; Praise the LORD in ev'ry breath; Let all things praise the LORD!

Psalm CL.

Universal Praise.

O PRAISE the LORD in that bless'd place
From whence His goodness largely flows;
Praise Him in Heav'n, where He His face
Unvail'd in perfect glory shows.

2 Praise Him for all the mighty acts
Which He in our behalf has done;
His kindness this return exacts,
With which our praise shall equal run.

3 Let the shrill trumpet's warlike voice
Make rocks and hills His praise rebound;
Praise Him with harp's melodious noise,
And gentle psalt'ry's silver sound.

4 Let all that vital breath enjoy,

The breath He does to them afford,
In just returns of praise employ:
Let ev'ry creature praise the LORD.

MAY the grace of CHRIST our SAVIOUR,

And the FATHER'S boundless love, With the HOLY SPIRIT'S favour, Rest upon us from above:

Thus may we abide in union

Hymns.

GOD.

Hymn.

Majesty of God.

1 ETERNAL Pow'r, whose high abode
Becomes the grandeur of a GOD;
Infinite lengths, beyond the bounds.
Where stars revolve their little rounds:

2 Thee, while the first archangel sings,
He hides his face behind his wings;
And ranks of shining thrones around
Fall worshipping, and spread the ground.

3 LORD, what shall earth and ashes do?
We would adore our Maker too!
From sin and dust to Thee we cry,
The Great, the Holy, and the High!

4 Earth from afar hath heard Thy fame,
And worms have learnt to lisp Thy Name;
But, O! the glories of Thy mind
Leave all our soaring thoughts behind!

5 GOD is in Heav'n, and men below:
Be short our tunes! our words be few!
When solemn rev'rence checks our songs,
May praise sit silent on our tongues!
