WHEREAS it is expedient to make regulations for the keeping

of dogs, and also to establish precautions against the spread of hydrophobia, in this Colony: Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of British Guiana, with the advice and consent of the Court of Policy thereof, as follows:

5. 6. If any dog shall be landed from any ship or vessel coming from abroad, without express permission from an Inspector of Police, the dog may at once be destroyed by any Police officer, and the captain of the ship or vessel shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding twenty dollars, to be recovered before any Stipendiary or Special Justice.

7. All persons acting under the provisions of this Ordinance, shall be entitled to the protection afforded by Ordinance No. 31 of the year 1850.

2. The Militia of Georgetown shall consist of one company of Artillery, of two companies of Rifles, and of three companies of the

3. The Militia shall be commanded by a Lieutenant Colonel Staff Officers. Commandant, and there shall be attached to it an Adjutant General, an Adjutant, a Judge Advocate, a Surgeon General, a Sergeant Major, and a Provost Sergeant.
