COMMITTEE ON FOREIGN AFFAIRS,

This compilation was prepared by the executive branch in collaboration with the staff of the House Foreign Affairs Committee for the use of the committee. Its purpose is to provide an up-to-date collection of basic foreign-aid legislation and related documents, including the changes made during the 83d Congress, 1st session.

The compilation contains the actual texts of the laws as amended through the 1st session of the 83d Congress together with notes and footnotes for convenient reference. It is not intended to include any interpretative comments. No assumption as to the meaning or significance of any of the laws is to be made on the basis of their inclusion, location, or other treatment in this compilation.
