GENERAL COURT-MARTIAL) HEADQUARTERS OF THE ARMY,
ADJUTANT GENERAL'S OFFICE,

Washington, April 7, 1885.

I.. Before a general court-martial which convened at Columbus Barracks, Ohio, pursuant to Special Orders, No. 237, dated October 9, 1884; No. 246, dated October 20, 1884; and No. 56, dated March 11, 1885, Headquarters of the Army, Adjutant General's Office, Washington, District of Columbia, and of which Lieutenant Colonel ROBERT H. OFFLEY, 17th Infantry, is president, were arraigned and tried—

1. Private Charles Sheppard, Company H, 10th Infantry. CHARGE." Desertion, in violation of the 47th Article of War." Specification-[ Deserted May 31, 1882; surrendered himself February 11, 1825.]

And the court does therefore sentence him, Private Charles Sheppard, Company H, 10th Infantry, "To be dishonorably discharged the service of the United States, forfeiting all pay and allowances now due or to become due, and to be confined at hard labor in such military prison as the reviewing [authority] may direct for the period of five (5) years."

2. Private Albert Kirsch, Company A, 20th Infantry. CHARGE.-"Violation of the 47th Article of War."

And the court does therefore sentence him, Private Albert Kirsch, Company A, 20th Infantry, "To be dishonorably discharged the service of the United States, forfeiting all pay and allowances now due or to become due, and to be confined at hard labor in such military prison as the reviewing authority may direct for the period of five (5) years."

II..The proceedings, findings, and sentences of the general courtmartial in the foregoing cases of Privates Charles Sheppard, Company H, 10th Infantry, and Albert Kirsch, Company A, 20th Infantry, are approved, and the sentences will be duly executed.

The Leavenworth Military Prison is designated as the place for the execution of so much of the sentences as relates to confinement at hard labor.

I.. Before a general court-martial which convened at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri, pursuant to Special Orders, No. 290, Headquarters of the Army, Adjutant General's Office, December 11, 1884, and of which Major JOHN K. MIZNER, 4th Cavalry, is president, were arraigned and tried

1. Private Albert Haney, Company B, 4th Infantry.

CHARGE." Desertion, in violation of the 47th Article of War.” Specification-[Deserted June 18, 1884; apprehended March 19, 1885.]

And the court does therefore sentence him, Private Albert Haney, Company B, 4th Infantry, "To be dishonorably discharged the service of the United States, forfeiting all pay and allowances due him, and to be confined at hard labor in such military prison as the reviewing authority may designate for the period of three (3) years."

2. Recruit Albert Blouski. General Mounted Service U. S. Army. CHARGE. "Conduct to the prejudice of good order and military discipline, in violation of the 62d Article of War."

Specification-" In that Recruit Albert Blouski, Company A of Instruction, General Mounted Service, being a member of the post guard, and seeing two prisoners in the act of escaping, did fail to make any effort to prevent their escape; did neglect to give the alarm; and did allow an unreasonable time to elapse before reporting the fact of their escape. This at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri, on or about the 224 day of March, 1885."
