And the court does therefore sentence him, Private Charles W. Sherman, Battery H, 3d Artillery, "To be dishonorably discharged from the service of the United States; to forfeit all pay and allowances that are now due or which may become due; and to be confined at hard labor in such military prison as the reviewing authority may direct for the period of two (2) years."

2. Private Daniel Scully, Troop L, 6th Cavalry.

CHARGE I.-"Desertion, in violation of the 47th Article of War." Specification-[Deserted August 19, 1882.]

CHARGE II.-" Violation of the 17th Article of War."

Specification 1st-"In that he, Private Daniel Scully, Troop L, 6th Cavalry, did, while on detached service in the field, sell or lose through neglect one public horse, the property of the United States, of the value of $120.00, which was not thereafter recovered. This at or near Richmond, Arizona Territory, on or about the 19th day of August, 1882."

Specification 2d―-"In that Private Daniel Scully, Troop L, 6th Cavalry, did sell or lose through neglect the following-described public property pertaining to Troop L, 6th Cavalry, and for which Captain G. E. Overton, 6th Cavalry, was responsible, and which had been issued to the said Scully as a part of his equipment, to wit: One Springfield carbine, cal. .45, $13.75: total value, $73.36. This at or near Richmond, Arizona Territory, on or about the 19th day of August,

due or that may become due, and to be confined at hard labor in such military prison as the reviewing authority may direct for the period of five (5) years."

5. Recruit George W. L. Miller, General Service U. S. Army. CHARGE. Desertion, in violation of the 47th Article of War." Specification-[Deserted September 25, 1883; apprehended July 2, 1885.]

And the court does therefore sentence him, Recruit George W. L. Miller, General Service U. S. Army, "To be dishonorably discharged the service of the United States, forfeiting all pay and allowances due or that may become due, and to be confined at hard labor in such military prison as the reviewing authority may direct for the period of five (5) years."

II..The proceedings, findings, and sentences of the general courtmartial in the foregoing cases of Lance Corporal Charles Dubois, Recruits William Schreiber and George W. L. Miller, General Service U. S. Army, and Privates John Doran, Company G, 20th Infantry, and William Barnes, Company H, 17th Infantry, are approved, and the sentences will be duly executed.

The Leavenworth Military Prison is designated as the place for the execution of so much of the sentences as relates to confinement at hard labor.

III.. Before a general court-martial which convened at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri, pursuant to Special Orders, No. 87, dated April 16, 1885, and No. 152, dated July 6, 1885, Headquarters of the Army, Adjutant General's Office, Washington, District of Columbia, and of which Major JOHN K. MIZNER, 4th Cavalry, is president, were arraigned and tried—

And the court does therefore sentence him, Private Daniel Scully, Troop L, 6th Cavalry, "To be dishonorably discharged from the service of the United States; to forfeit all pay and allowances that are now due or which may become due; and to be confined at hard labor in such military prison as the reviewing authority may direct for the period of four (4) years."

IV..The proceedings, findings, and sentences of the general court-martial in the foregoing cases of Privates Charles W. Sherman, Battery H, 3d Artillery, and Daniel Scully, Troop L, 6th Cavalry, are approved, and the sentences will be duly executed.

The Leavenworth Military Prison is designated as the place for the execution of so much of the sentences as relates to confinement at hard labor.
