CHAP. 948.-An Act Granting a deed of quitclaim and release to Lorillard Spencer, his heirs and assigns, of all the right, title, and interest in and to certain land in the city of Newport, Rhode Island.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of War is hereby authorized and directed to execute, acknowledge, and deliver, deed to certain land in the name of the United States of America, a deed of quitclaim and release to Lorillard Spencer, of Newport, Rhode Island, his heirs and assigns, of all the right, title, and interest which was granted to the United States of America by a deed from Elisha Brown to the United States of America, dated the fifteenth day of November, anno Domini eighteen hundred and eight, and recorded in volume eleven of the Land Evidence of the city of Newport, in the county of Newport, in the State of Rhode Island, at pages eleven and twelve, in and to the land described in said deed, upon the payment by him of the sum of twenty-five dollars.

CHAP. 949.—An Act Granting a pension to Lucinda A. Sirwell.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Lucinda A. Sirwell, the helpless and dependent daughter of William Sirwell, late colonel Seventy-eighth Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, and pay her a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month.

Rhodabeck, late captain Company H, Eighteenth Regiment Iowa Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of forty dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United [Private, No. 817.] States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Elizabeth I. Ogden, foster mother of Lowell L. Campbell, late of Company G, Eighth Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry, war with Spain, and pay her a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month, such pension to cease and determine in the event of the allowance of a pension to the father of the deceased soldier.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Amos Allport, late of Company G. One hundred and forty-seventh Regiment New York Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of seventeen dollars per month.

Calkins, late lieutenant-colonel Third Regiment Wisconsin Volunteer Cavalry, and pay him a pension at the rate of fifty dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving. Approved, May 31, 1902.

Styles, late of Company I, Fiftieth Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month.

Slocum, late first lieutenant, Company E, One hundred and fifteenth Regiment New York Volunteer Infantry, and pay her a pension at the rate of seventeen dollars per month in lieu of that she is now receiving. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Otis R. Freeman, late surgeon Tenth Regiment New Jersey Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of twenty-four dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving. Approved, May 31, 1902.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Samuel P. Milburn, late of Company D, Thirteenth Regiment New Jersey Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of twenty-four dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving.

Hamilton, late captain Company C, First Regiment New York Volunteer Mounted Rifles, and pay him a pension at the rate of twenty-four dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving.
