Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of War is hereby authorized and directed to remove the charge of desertion standing against Jacob L. Hanger, alias William T. Graham, late of Company C, Thirtieth Ohio Infantry, and Company F, Second Ohio Heavy Artillery Volunteers, who absented himself without proper authority and remained so absent to July fifteenth, eighteen hundred

and sixty-three, when, under the name of William T. Graham, he
enlisted in Company F, Second Ohio Heavy Artillery Volunteers,
served faithfully, and was honorably discharged with his command
August twenty-third, eighteen hundred and sixty-five: Provided,
That no pay, bounty, or other emoluments shall become due or pay-
able by virtue of the passage of this Act.

CHAP. 1399.—An Act Authorizing the payment of part of the pension of Ira Steward to Adell Augusta Steward.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause to be paid to Adell Augusta Steward, the former wife of Ira Steward, late of Company D, Thirteenth Regiment New York Volunteer Heavy Artillery, upon her properly executed voucher and out of the pension due or to become due from and after the passage of this Act to said Ira Steward, the sum of twelve dollars per month during the period of said Steward's imprisonment: Provided, That said Adell Augusta Steward shall not remarry during the imprisonment of said Ira Steward. Approved, July 1, 1902.

Hammond, late of Captain Goodwyn's company of Alabama Volunteers, Creek Indian war, and pay her a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month in lieu of that she is now receiving, the same to be paid to her under the rules of the Pension Bureau as to mode and times of payment, without any deduction or rebate on account of any former erroneous payments of pension.
