CHAP. 51.—An Act Granting a pension to Elizabeth D. Harding.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United Elizabeth D. Hard- States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Elizabeth D. Harding, widow of Isaac N. Harding, late of Company H, Fortieth Regiment Indiana Volunteer Infantry, and pay her a pension at the rate of eight dollars per month. Approved, December 27, 1902.

CHAP. 52.—An Act Granting an increase of pension to William H. Snyder. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United William H. Snyder. States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of William H. Snyder, late of Company E, One hundred and twenty-third Regiment Illinois Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of twenty-four dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving.

States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Jonathan Walbert, late of Company F, Seventysecond Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of twenty-four dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving.

E. Scott, widow of James H. Scott, late of Captain Sledge's company, Georgia Volunteers, Creek Indian war, and pay her a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month in lieu of that she is now receiving.

Peters, widow of Augustus C. Peters, late second lieutenant Company K, Sixteenth Regiment Maine Volunteer Infantry, and pay her a pension at the rate of fifteen dollars per month. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of John C. Clarke, late of Company K, Sixty-ninth Regiment New York Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of eight dollars per month. Approved, December 27, 1902.

CHAP. 60.—An Act To remove the charge of desertion against Thomas Cordingly. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Thomas Cordingly. Navy be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to remove the discharge. charge of desertion now standing against the name of Thomas Cordingly, a seaman, charged with desertion from the United States steamship Flag and Vermont April twenty-seventh, eighteen hundred and sixty-five: And the Secretary of the Navy is authorized to issue to him a certificate of honorable discharge from the Navy. Approved, January 8, 1903.

CHAP. 64.—An Act Removing the charge of desertion from the name of Jacob Bowman.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of War Jacob Bowman. be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to remove the charge of removed. desertion now borne on the records of the War Department against Jacob Bowman, of Company K, Sixty-third Regiment Indiana Infantry Volunteers, and substitute therefor the words "Discharged December second, eighteen hundred and sixty-two:" Provided, That no pay, bounty, or other emoluments shall accrue by virtue of this Act.

Green, late captain Company E, Second Regiment Colorado Volunteer Cavalry, and pay him a pension at the rate of thirty dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving. Whitney, late of Company I, Fifty-third Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, and pay her a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month in lieu of that she is now receiving.

laws, the name of James K. Van Matre, late of Fifth Independent Battery Wisconsin Volunteer Light Artillery, and pay him a pension at the rate of twenty-four dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving.

Tillson, widow of John Tillson, late colonel Tenth Regiment Illinois Volunteer Infantry, and brevet brigadiergeneral United States Volunteers, and pay her a pension at the rate of thirty dollars per month in lieu of that she is now receiving.
