Note to the Third Edition.

It has been the custom of the author to keep previous editions up to date by furnishing annually through the publishers leaflets properly marked for insertion therein, containing the interim changes in the statutes and later decisions. A reprint of the second edition having become necessary, however, the opportunity is offered to embody in this edition all the changes in the statutes and the decisions to date.

The corporation precedents form an important part of this publication.

This part of the work has been somewhat enlarged by the addition of precedents from recent important organizations in various states, and especially those under the laws of New Jersey.

The importance of this branch of the work becomes apparent from the fact that several states have adopted many of the essential and underlying principles, some even adopting the language, of New Jersey's laws.
