2 I have been there, and still would go;
'Tis like a little heaven below:
Not all that careless sinners say,
Shall tempt me to forget this day.

3 Oh! write upon my mem'ry, Lord,
The truths and doctrines of thy word,
That I may feel their saving power,
And learn to love thee more and more.

4 With thoughts of Christ and things divine O fill this foolish heart of mine,

That finding pardon thro' his blood,
I may lie down and wake with God.

Sabbath or Week-day Service.
1 AGAIN our earthly cares we leave,
And to thy courts repair;
Again with joyful feet we come
To meet our Saviour here.

2 Great Shepherd of thy people, hear!
Thy presence now display;
We kneel within thy house of prayer,
Oh! give us hearts to pray.

3 The clouds which veil thee from our sight
In pity, Lord, remove;
Dispose our minds to hear aright
The message of thy love.

4 Help us with holy fear and joy,
To kneel before thy face;

And make us, creatures of thy power,
The children of thy grace.

Opening of Divine Service.

1 LORD, when we bend before thy throne,
And our confessions pour,
Teach us to feel the sins we own,
And shun what we deplore.

2 When our responsive tongues essay
Their grateful songs to raise,
Grant that our souls may join the lay,
And rise to thee in praise.

3 When we disclose our wants in prayer,
May we our wills resign;
And not a thought our bosoms share
Which is not wholly thine.

4 Let faith each meek petition fill,
And waft it to the skies:

And teach our hearts 'tis goodness still
That grants it, or denies.

Sabbath Evening Assembly.

1 LORD, how delightful 'tis to see
A whole assembly worship thee!
At once they sing, at once they pray;
They hear of heaven, and learn the way.

Not all that careless sinners say,

Blessings implored of the Trinity. 1 COMMAND thy blessing from above, O God, on all assembled here; Behold us with a Father's love, While we look up with filial fear. 2 Command thy blessing, Jesus, Lord! May we thy true disciples be:

Speak to each heart the mighty word, Say to the weakest-" Follow me." 3 Command thy blessing in this hour, Spirit of truth, and fill the place With humbling and with healing power, With quick'ning and confirming grace. 4 0 thou, our Maker, Saviour, Guide, One true eternal God confess'd!

What thou hast join'd may none divide,
Nor dare to curse whom thou hast blest.

Invitation to Praise God.

COME ye that love the Lord,
And let your joys be known;
Join in a song with sweet accord,
While ye surround the throne.
The sorrows of the mind
Be banish'd from this place;
Religion never was design'd
To make our pleasures less.

The sons of God have found
Glory begun below;

Celestial fruit on earthly ground

From faith and hope may grow.

4

The hill of Zion yields

A thousand sacred sweets,

Before we reach the heavenly fields,
Or walk the golden streets.

5 Then let our songs abound,

And every tear be dry;

We're marching through Immanuel's

To fairer worlds on high.

Sabbath or Week-day Service.

1 How sweet to leave the world awhile,
And seek the presence of the Lord!
Blest Saviour, on thy people smile,
And come according to thy word.

2 From busy scenes we now retreat,
That we may here converse with thee;
O Lord behold us at thy feet,
Let this "the gate of heaven" be.
3" Chief of ten thousand," now appear,
That we by faith may see thy face;
O speak, that we thy voice may hear,
And let thy presence fill this place.

4 Then with glad lips we'll raise our voice, To sing the glories of thy power;

1

And in thy name and word rejoice,
And praise thee for this blessed hour.
19 S. M.

Adoration of God.

STAND up, and bless the Lord,

Ye people of his choice;

Stand up, and bless the Lord your God,
With heart, and soul, and voice.
